Brides with wine favors and/or getting married at Lands End...
Does anyone know if there are any restrictions involved in giving out wine as favors?? I know some of you were talking about doing this, and I wasn't sure if you had checked with your catering halls first or what. In particular, I'm interested in Lands End's policies, as that's where I am getting married. I can't imagine this would be problematic, since it's not like we'll be serving the wine. Still, better safe than sorry...
Any thoughts?

Alison - we gave out alcholic favors at Lands End with no problem. They never asked us what our favors were going to be. (They were mini bottles of Jager and Baileys).
I don't think wine would be a problem at all.
on a side note: Jennifer called me yesterday to ask if Lands End could use our pictures for their website!

I never even thought of asking my hall. I gave out full size bottles of wine and no problem (not a Lands End Bride though).

Bridetobe...did you put them out on each table for the guests, or was there a designated table where the favors can be picked up?
Lisat, how about you?
We were thinking of having the wine serve double-duty as 'placecards' AND favors. How does Lands End set it up? Do you think it would be possible for us to have a table where people walk in to pick up their wine, which then tells them where their table is? Or is there not enough room to do something like that?

there are those side tables near the entrance to the ballroom where you could do that. We had family photos on those tables (we put the favors on each tables in the ballroom and we had a seating list rather than cards)
you shouldn't have a problem setting that up.

I gave out full bottles of wine at my wedding and it was not a problem at all. My wedding was at flowerfield

Cindy, did you put them on the tables where the guests sat or on the tables before they entered the room? Did you just do one per couple? We are debating between putting them on the tables in between each place setting, and using them as a sort of place card as well and giving them to people as they walk in. Thoughts?

Originally I was going to put them on the table. The day of my wedding the matred thought it might take a little from the centerpiece so what we did was we put all of them on a table and when each guest left someone from the hall handed them out. We only gave one per couple, but I heard that some couples walked out with one each. That was the only part I didnt like. We dont even have one left for ourselves. I thought it was an expensive favor to give out, let alone one per guest. Hope I helped.

Thanks! I think what we are thinking of doing to alleviate that possibility is making them serve double-duty as 'placecards' as well. We'd put them on the table before people walked in, and there would be one per couple with the couple's name and table assignment on it. Do you think that would work?
Do you mind my asking how much $$ you spent?

Sounds like a good idea. I think what we spent was about 7 dollars a bottle. It might of been 7 and change, but I am not sure. We had gone to the winery of the wine we picked out on our second date so we thought it was a nice idea.
