Bridesmaid Advice

a few weeks back I posted about me giving my bridesmaid the $50 for the deposit on her dress since she didn't have the money on her at the time. She still hasn't given me back the $50 ... she and her husband just bought a house and they're kind of strapped for cash. She said her husband will need to go with her to pay for the dress so she can put it on the cc...

I know they're kind of broke right now and I don't want to push the issue since it's just $50, but when I was in her wedding it cost me $1500 for everything (dress, shoes, hair, makeup, shower, shower gift, wedding gift....) so I guess I'm a little annoyed...

I know it's a sensistive situation so I'm just not sure how to handle. Do I let it go since it's just $50?

How many times have you asked her for it so far?

I understand why you're annoyed - but things like this can very easily cause tension. I'd let it go and be sure not to lay out anything further. Maybe even scale back on the BM gift to sort of 'earn' your $ back.

a bunch...tried to be tactful.... I just don't know what to say-I feel bad. FH says I should just be like 'oh, i know you're strapped for cash so whenever you give it to me is fine.'

I think that's a good way to approach it actually....just say something like 'Listen, I don't want you to worry about the $50...I know you'll get it to me when you have it available.'

That way she is reminded of it, she knows its on your mind, she knows you haven't forgotten but you are giving her the benefit of the doubt (and also letting her know you will be expecting it at some point).
