bridesmaid alteration-- O.O.T

Do you think its ok to request an out of town bridesmaid get alterations done at the bridal salon here, when she arrives? Since it would be a request, the cost would be taken care of. I think this way would make it easier on here, avoiding shipping, carrying it on the plane with everything else and for me, piece of mind the dress will be altered the same way the girls here will be. Thoughts? - TIA :)

I think you should check with the salon first. If they can do it. I don't see a problem with it.

UNLESS (and this isn't to be mean at all) she gained weight sicnce ordering it and they need to order more fabric that could take extra time which you wouldn't have.

Well, I called the bridal salon and asked if they would do a 'rush' alteration when she arrives and they said no problem at all. It will be a lot but I'm afraid with going to just a random person there vs.Someone who is dealing with all the other girls dresses. Is this crazy?? I know I'm going to have so much to do!

I have 2 OOT bridesmaids and I worry that we wont have enough time so I may have them have it altered down by them.

Only if there's enough time. My FSIL is OOT and ordered the dress from the same store but it will be shipped down to her so she can get it altered down in FL. I doubt she'd be able to get it altered up here the week of the wedding.

I'm for it as long as time allows and the store says they can get it done, but its cutting it real close, especially if something went wrong.

Not mean at all. Weight was a huge concern of hers. I thought by waiting until last minute would eliminate that worry if weight fluctuated. She did order a little big for this reason. She is arriving 5 or 6 days before the wedding when I / we will have soooooo much to do but I planned on bringing her to get her dress steamed anyway. ???

i have a oot bm and i shipped her gown to her.
she is taking care of the alterations by her.
im not worried one bit.

come to think of it my fsil is getting her gown altered at a shop different from where we ordered it.

even better im getting my gown altered at a different shop from where i bought it.

in the end all i care about is that the job gets done right. i could care less if its at the same shop.

but thats just me

This was/is the plan... she ordered here, dress was getting shipped to her and would get altered there. I don't care so much same salon more concerned the job gets done right but that would be anywhere. I don't know... prob. Putting way too much thought into this. Lol
