what factors do you look at when picking a bridesmaid, are you obligated to put someone in your wedding that put you in theirs? i'm not that close to a lot of girls but dont want such a small wedding party, but i'm afraid to ask some people b/c i can't tell if they want to be in it or not, any advice? also whats a cute way of asking?

Re: Bridesmaid and MOH question
Welcome!!!
I felt obligated to ask FH's sister and my sister in law. Other than them - I asked the 2 women i'm closest to. I do regret putting FH's sister in, but it was an obligation...
I asked everyone except one face to face. The one I didn't - I sent a large personalized cookie. The picture's in my photo album..

My cousin had me in her wedding just to spite her cousin on her moms side! She doesnt even like me! I'm definitely not having her in mine!
The owners' name is Julie - she'll work closely with you to get the cookie right & it tastes amazing!!!
I'm using her for my favors now too!

i don't think you are obligated to put anyone in your party. The situation is different for many people, some want it to be all family, others have small familys so that is not the case.

That's a rough question. One thing i've learned is that your BP is supposed to be your support system during the whole planning process and if you pick people out of obligation you will be handling things on your own a LOT!!
Pick people that mean something to you...not out of obligation..

just be careful about who you ask and what you expect of them. if you want your bridesmaids to be attentive and be reliable and be there to help you out on wedding errands, it may be hard to motivate certain people if you're not too close to them. pick bridesmaids you know you want to share you day with (and days leading up to it).

I know there are some obligations with family, I have FH's sister in my wedding party. She's not always the easiest to get along with, but its the right thing to do. As far as other friends...if they're not your best of the best friends, it might not be a good idea to include them. You want them to help you with the planning and really be excited for you and your wedding and also not butt heads with your moh and such! Good luck!
