Re: bridesmaid colors
my bridesmaids are wearing bright pink dresses (jim hjelm raspberry), and the flower colors are pink and orange. I love the combo and think its very fresh looking!

Re: bridesmaid colors
Do you have a theme for the rest of your wedding. For example, I am using a garden theme so my flowers came first pink peony's, white hydrangea's and grean ladys mantle. I then went with light yellow for the dresses to keep that light spring garden theme.

Re: bridesmaid colors
I know exactly what you are talking about. that was my issue. Our Rh was dark colors, gold, red and navy blue aso I wanted to keep everything flowing with those colors.....it didnt work. Dont make yourself crazy trying to do that. i did for almost a year. I always loved the look of the BMs in black and white but so many peole had done it that I didnt want that. I loved red but couldnt find the red I liked....i had picked every color you could think of before I decided.
I wound up doing everything backwards, instead of picking my colors or theme i picked out the flowers that I wanted first and matched everything to that.

Re: bridesmaid colors
Pick your favorite girl and go to a wedding salon. Try on different colors, take pictures. My personal feeling is that they often have the dress in a color that it looks good in (otherwise, why have that color?).
We went with red...actually 'cranberry' even though I really never thought I'd like it. It ended up working really well and being easy to coordinate.
I wanted yellow or green. Just didn't like them on my sister (the girl of my choice) when we tried them on. That being said, I've seen lots of beautiful pics of greens and yellows here.
Good luck.

Re: bridesmaid colors
My advice is find the BM dress you want first, then decide the color scheme because the dress you want may not be in every color. I really wanted the BM dresses to be a cornflower blue, but the dress we picked only came in navy blue or pastel blue...dark blue was almost black and the pastel blue was too spring like for my September wedding. But it did come in heather (light purple) so that was the closest to what I envisioned originally. Sure I could've went crazy looking for another BM dress in the perfect shade of blue but to me the style was the best on everyone's body types so that was more important to me.
I was SO glad I went with purple anyway...you can do a lot with it, and go colorful if you want. My girls had bouquets with a mix of purple, blue, pink and white. You can probably use a whole lot of other colors with purple too. Check out my album of professional wedding pics to see how my BM's and their flowers looked. I was very happy with how it turned out.
