Bridesmaid dilemma...

Bridesmaid dilemma...

OK here's a question for you...

My FI sister is going to be one of my bridesmaids...we have yet 2 dilemmas here!

1. She is going to be going to school in England next year (she is leaving in 2 weeks) (FI parents are flying her in for the wedding)

2. She is losing weight at a good rate (our wedding is 15 months away) and I don't know what size she is going to be by then.

I haven't decided where I'm getting the gowns from or what kind yet...
now.... do I wait until I've decided and have her get measured over there and then I order the dress for her over here....and ship it to her to get fitted there.
or do I let her find a dress over there and get fitted and have her take care of everything over there... (without me seeing the dress)

FI and I have been talking about this and we just don't know what to do!

TIA

I would definitely have her get measured over there, you order the dress when you order everyone else's, and then have eit shipped to her to have it altered w/specific instructions (ie: hem no shorter than ankle, etc.)

The only reason I say order her dress w/everyone else's is b/c she will have her dress made from the same lot as the other girls, and the dresses will match.

Some designers' dresses will come in various (slight) shades b/c they use a different fabric lot.

I personally don't mind if my girls are in the same shade, and exact dress. I love the fact that everyone I love the most is going to be involved and standing next to us that day. So, with that said...

I would let her pick out a dress in the same color as everyone else, and in the style she prefers (in England), and let her worry about it.

My sis lives in FL and that's what we're doing.

I think this is what I am doing. I know the color and both FI's sisters reside in England so they are going to get measured over there - but they use the metric system so they will be converted then ordered with everyone elses and shipped back to England.,If its too much of a hassle i might just have them order in england even if the color is slightly off.

I really don't care if the dresses are the same color...as longs as they are tea length and some type of light blue..I'm letting my girls pick them out..I'm not picky and I have girls of several different shapes and sizes

Once you pick the dress then worry about it.. b/c some of the designers have store international.. so she might be able to find the dress over there..

But I think you are right.. I wouldnt want to be shipping the dress all over..

If you have her measured over there, which I suggest, be sure the measurements are not for a 'UK' size and are for 'US' sizing. They have different sizing over there....
