how many months before your wedding should you go to get them?

I think 6-8 months is a good time to order them. I ordered them 7 months before my wedding date.

We're ordering them 9 months before (Nov. 1st)

i'd say it all depends on how long it takes them to come in. I order my BM dress for my best friends wedding on Jan 31st. Her wedding is Oct 10th. The dress came in 5 weeks later and i just had to have it altered because it was 3 sizes too big now. That was another $40 on top of the cost of the dress.

i'll probably have my girls wait till a little closer to my wedding (9/18/09)

we werent looking, but my MOH and fav BM were with me when I was dress shopping and I had them try on a few things. They fell in love with a dress that looked amazing on both of them (different body types) and it came in a color I loved, so we decided on them a week later. We never really looked at BM dresses and they only tried on 3 dresses. Couldn't be happier with the dresses -- love them! Orders were in appx 10-11 months before the wedding.
