I'm having a winter wedding from mid afternoon into evening...do you think its better to have long dresses to the floor for bridesmaids or tea length?? my mom's telling me that since its a formal wedding, long dresses are better but I sort of think most girls like tea length or shorter. what do you think? I'm thinking a dark silver/charcoal color and my other colors are winter whites, silver and black.

Re: bridesmaid dress
I personally think the long dresses will make it look formal plus the girls might like them longer since it will be cold out so they have something to cover their legs.

Re: bridesmaid dress
I had my BMs in tea-length but at your time of year I'd think that a long dress might be better. But there are no rules, do as you please!

Re: bridesmaid dress
There are no rules really, just do what you want. My bridesmaids will be wearing a tea length dress because I feel that they will be able to use it again. I have three floor length bridesmaids gowns sitting in my closet and I will prob never wear them again so that is why I opted for tea length for my wedding. You can get them pashminas and find a place that has nice photo ops indoors as well like a mansion or something. It's totally up to you!

Re: bridesmaid dress
I would say floor length for a winter wedding, but it's your wedding, so if you want tea length, go for it. I'm having my BM's in floor length for my June wedding, but I'm choosing something that will look really nice if they choose to have it cut down after.

Re: bridesmaid dress
I'm having a fall wedding and the dresses will most likely be tea length. I just like it better. I think you should just do what you want and what your girls are comfortable with.

Re: bridesmaid dress
id go long...its gonna be cold... my girls chose long for that reason, they didn't want cold arms and legs.

Re: bridesmaid dress
I think you should go with full-length gowns since it is a January wedding
