I recently started thinking of bridesmaid dress colors.
My mom whom is my best friend/wedding confidant and me are seriously butting heads with my 2 color options.
I REALLY want black dresses. Moms complaint is that girls in black next to black tuxes you won't know where the dress ends and the tux begins because they will blend in.
Option #2 Chocolate Brown dresses but I would still want black tuxes Moms complaint is that the black and brown will clash.
Now I know I've seen pictures of both options but I was hoping you ladies could help me by posting a few on here so I can show my mom that both options work well.
SO pictures please!!
thanks so much!

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Colors
i would personally would do black dresses and some sort of contrasting color sash or something?
Nothing is wrong with black dresses. However, think about how the pictures from the reception will look, like when they are on the dance floor. Do you want the girls to stand out? The sash idea is not a bad one.

Originally I wanted to have an ivory colored sash or accent. But the dresses I've liked so far don't work with a sash - I am going to have red flowers so I think that will brighten it up at least. I'm just worried in the pro pics they will blend in with the tuxes.

I love the black with the colored sash. I've always loved it and would do it for mine, except my wedding is in the summer. I think that the pop of color from the flowers will be a great contrast too though. With a black dress your focus will be on the flowers.
brown looks amazing and does not clash at all with the black here are some pics . the brown is called chesnut dresses are by POB and Melissa Sweet guys tuxes are from MW and the vest is called latte herringbone
You can defentially do brown dresses. The guys will just wear brown vests.

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Colors
Mother's can be great to ask for advise, but ultimatly it's YOUR wedding and you have to do what you think is right. A lot of the 'rules' that applied when our mothers were getting married don't apply anymore. If you want black dresses, go for it! You only get one crack at this, you don't want to look back and say 'I should have done what I wanted...'

It's you choice..
I like both options.
black with a colored sash, or the brown dresses.
they are both very pretty choices!

that was going to be what I said... most guests wear their 'little black dress' to a wedding. So you're BM and guests will all be in black, you might want to add another color into the mix with either a sash or two piece dress. a friend of mine had her girls in black skirts with white tops that had black on them and they looked AMAZING!

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Colors
my girls will be wearing black dresses. i learned the hard way that no matter what you pick or think you will like, seeing it on different people will make up your mind.
i wanted to pick something that all my girls where comfortable in & that would flatter every body type.
