Bridesmaid Dress Help

Bridesmaid Dress Help

One of my bridesmaids is giving me a hard time about getting measured for her dress.

we were all supposed to go 3/30 but now she says she has plans, so I offered to drive her to the place ANY time that is convenient for her. And she said no, she has worn bill levkoff before (in 3 weddings) and is always the same size

but here's the thing, she is not the same size as then, she has gained a lot of weight and there is no way that she is the same size (last wedding was 3 years ago)

and I dont know how to convince her to get measured, the last thing I want to do is point out that she gained, but I dont want her dress not to fit or her to be uncomfortable that day? help please!

Re: Bridesmaid Dress Question

Tell her the store won't order the dress for her without measuring her. Which may even be true.

I had to take my girls to get measured in 4 separate trips..why do they do this to us? like we have nothing else to worry about and all the free time in the world?

Maybe you should just tell her you would feel more comfortable if she went to get measured. Just because she has worn Bill Levkoff in the past doesn't mean every style runs the same.

figure something out. I just went through this with my BM, i kicked them out of my BP FYI.

Tell her it has to be done by a certain time or the dress will not be done in time and she will have to be excluded.

seriously, it isn't worth the stress to keep tabs on people!

Your BM might be putting off the measuring since she might be secretly convincing herself that she can lose some weight before getting measured. You never know, weight issues can be a touchy subject with her.

I would encourage her to get it done, tell her there is a deadline and that you would hope that she could put in the order with the rest of the BMs, so that the dresses all come in at the same time.

Luckily- I didn't really have any problems in this area- just one very minor one. I would tell her they won't order without the measurements, and you need it by a certain time.

I agree to tell her that they will not order the dress without her being measured. She is probably self-concious over the weight gain, but she needs to suck it up and go get it over with

yea if this is the worst thing that happens this year, believe me I'm not that upset , good idea about blaming the dress shop!

tell her that they said that they won't order it without measuring her so that they can't be blamed for ordering the wrong size if it doesn't fit. Like they need her measurments as proof that they ordered the right size for her. I don't think thats true, but it sounds good!

I'd throw money into it...it always makes people jump. Say they won't order until you get measured and if she doen't do it by such and such a date she will have to pay extra as a rush charge b/c she waited to long. That might get her there..

Can she get measured elsewhere and call in her measurements? That's what I have to do for FH's cousin's wedding. I can't make it to Bridal Reflections by the date she wants to order.

Have her do her measurements and send her the Levkoff size chart.... If that doesn't work definitely let her know that they won't order the dress until she goes to the store.
I think you're being very accomodating towards her.... She should compensate and try to meet you halfway!!!
