bridesmaid dress HELP

PLEASE HELP!

i have 7 bridesmaids, and i am having them pick whatever dress they like in the capri blue color at David's Bridal....

some refuse to wear long, some refuse short, and some refuse to wear tea-length....

what to do? is it ok with all different lengths? or will that look stupid?

opinions please!
TIA

JMO..I think you should pick a certain length and let everyone pick a style they like.

I think you're being very nice for letting them pick their own dress to begin with... This 'refusing' to wear a certain length is RIDICULOUS. I am in 3 weddings other than my own this year and I would NEVER tell the bride I REFUSE to wear something. I think you have to put your foot down and pick a length.

i persoanly dont like the different lenght. i like all the dresses to be the same. and its not up to them what they like or not, its ur wedding!

JMO but I would pick one length and tough for whoever is unhappy. Especially with that many girls.

I wouldnt allow them to have different lengths. I am also planning to let my BMs pick their dress...but am specifying it needs to be long.

I dont think the BMs should be refusing to wear anything...it's your choice and you are being nice enough to let them choose a dress

You are the bride. Pick the length. Then let them choose the dresses. JMO.

Re: bridesmaid dress HELP

thanks so much...this is the way i've been feeling too....i'm like the girl from the movie 27 dresses....LITERALLY...i'm 38 years old and have been in sooooo many weddings i lost count!

I ALWAYS wore whatever hideous dress they picked out without complaint!....only once was i able to pick the style....and i vowed NEVER to just pick one dress for everyone....hence the different styles.

i didn't think length would be such a big effing deal for everyone...i think i'm gonna go with my gut (and with all ur advice!) and just tell them.....whatever style u want, just make it floor length....they can always cut it down and wear it again!

thanks....don't know what i'd do without u girls

I would let your MOH pick whatever she wants. Then, I would tell the other girls they all had to pick either floor length or tea length. I think included in tea length could be knee length. I'd just worry about a few of them being in the same dress.

I was originally going to let my bms get whatever they wanted, but then I wanted it uniform so I was only going to have my MOH have a different dress. But she loved the one that the other ones like so she's just going to have a brooch on hers.

If you're concerned about it looking stupid, put your foot down!

cosign.

u are being super nice allowing them to pick dress style only specifying a color.

different lengths would look ridiculous IMO, pick a length, pick a color -- then they can go town with the style.

i was just in a wedding where I was told the designer and style #r, i had no say really.
luckily the dresses were gorgeous, but still common they're taking advantage of your sweet nature. or perhaps your wishes not to have drama.

then you either pick for them or let them pick for themselves....

ITA with the girls...I think one length is best! I wanted input as well from my girls, but at some point it is your wedding and you need to make a decision. You are already being flexible in letting them choose a style. Pick the length you want and stick with it...that just my opinion though! Good luck!

Oh one length is def best!! Diff lengths might look a little nuts. U r being so sweet by letting them have a say in the dress decision, but I wouldnt let the entire decision be up to them. Then it becomes a free for all. U need to set some guidelines, after all----its YOUR wedding they agreed to be in!
