Is it me, or do bridesmaid dresses never look the same color on their websites as they do in the store? It's REALLY frustrating because I want a very specific shade of blue (in between cobalt and indigo) and when I THINK I find the right dress, when I see the fabric in person, it's never the same!!!!

Of course they dont look the same, there is nothing the designer can do its just the way the computer lets you see it.
That is why you can go in to the bridal stores and see the swatch of colors they offer. You should do this and look at all designers and pick the designers that have the closest color to what you are looking for and go from there

yeah, i wouldn't go by the color you see on your computer. it's never accurate. i agree with the first poster, go to the bridal salon and just look at all the blues in person and then pick from that. i ended up picking jim hjelm teal in satin and chiffon and the color doesn't look teal in person.

Yeah this is definitely tough....it's really hard to find a nice blue color in the range you're looking for too--that's what I was looking for as well! I ended up choosing bill levkoff tissue taffeta in indigo, which is kind of different than what I was originally going for (and looks totally different than the color on the web!)....good luck!

I agree colors are tough, and sometimes the store doesn't even have a dress in the color you are looking for...therefore you have to base your decison an a very very very tiny little swatch of color. How is one supposed to picture a whole dress like that???

you have to go into the store to see the color. i believe most websites make a disclaimer too that the color on the screen may not be an accurate respresentation of the real color. for the BM dress we ordered, the store did not have any dresses by that designer in the color i wanted, only a tiny swatch. we took the swatch around the store to find other dresses in that color to get a full visual of what the dress would look like. if you go to a large bridal salon, like RK, they should have a dress in the color your looking for.

BM dresses look nothing like they do in the pics. I have seen soo many BM dresses online and I just fell in love with them but when I saw them at the store they were hideous

agree, very hard to find a nice blue if you don't want ice blue or navy. I also ended up choosing BL tissue taffeta in indigo (see my avatar and my BM dress albums) which actually is probably the best for us in the end. I would have gone even brighter if I could find something, but my BMs (minus one who thinks the brigher the better!) are happy because they think this color is more wearable and less obnoxious. i like obnoxious blue, but apparently most designers do not!
