My FW wants to know how long... on average... does it take to get a bridesmaid dress in?
She is just looking for a roundabout number on how long it takes to get something in that you have to order.

Really depends on the designer and the salon from which you order. My girls dresses were Jim Hjelm and I ordered them through RK Bridal's no frills program. They came in literally 2.5 weeks after I ordered them. I think that this is the exception to the rule though.

For an average delivery time - I would say 12-16 weeks.

It depends on the place, but the usual is 3 months from what I've seen.

My girls got their BM dresses at Davids (I wouldn't recommend them, however) and it took under 2 months for them to come in
It really just depends on where you go, and the designer of the gown. I would say that to be safe, have Vanessa and her girls order them no later than the end of January for your May wedding (and also taking into account time for alterations, etc)

MAKE SURE when you tell them your wedding date... that you say AT LEAST 2 weeks to a month earlier than it is!! Alot of companies prioritize, and theyll order yours based on teh date of the wedding. Mine were supposed to be in the week of Oct 22nd (we ordered them Aug 7th) and i called mid november to see where they were and they told me that they wouldnt be in until JAN 5th. i b!tched, complained and all that stuff, told them it was completely unacceptable, and after alot of phone calls, they came in this past week.
so definately tell your FW to give herself that extra time to play with
