I am having all my bridesmaids wear their own style. I picked a designer and color and they are allowed to choose their own style. But one of my BM's likes a dress kind of like this... And i like it but i dont know if it will look right considering all the other dresses are floor length.
Has anyone seen the fabrics mixed and matched like some girls in satin and some in chiffon??
i chose the designer, color, fabric, and length and THEN let the girls choose thier dresses!!!!!! It looked awesome!

Re: Bridesmaid dress problem!!
ouch! i set up the same parimeters - but also included the length and material - bc i didnt want to run into those problems.
I would clarify with all of your bridesmaids before they find something that wont work. i dont think satin and chiffon will look good together - esp if its only one that is standing out (unless maybe she's your moh - then maybe it wouldnt be as terrible?). i think chiffon is better for summer weddings (but be aware it can snag easily); satin for fall/winter. alfred angelo, i found, has a wide selection of styles in all colors, lengths and materials. one of the reasons why i went with them over any others. jordan was great for that too.

my girls did the same thing...but i picked the length and the fabric too and imo it looked amazing! i would suggest you keep them all at the same length, unless the one that wants the above dress is the MOH - its ok if hers is different

I would just tell her it doesn't go with the flow of the other dresses and that she needs to pick out a TRUE floor length dress. It's your wedding and at the end of the day you need to be happy!

Re: Bridesmaid dress problem!!
I agree! The BM dresses were the most stressful part of wedding planning for me as well. I would choose the fabric, length, color and designer and then allow the girls to choose what they want from there. You really don't want to girls to have all different lengths and materials or it just wont look right. Try not to get too crazy over it. It's your day. You need to be happy with the dresses too. Good luck!

I really like the look of 'mismatched' dresses - I've seen so many pics on pinterest, etc. and the different fabrics & colors actually complement one another. I gave my girls color swatches and inspiration pics in their bridesmaid boxes, but aside from that I set no parameters.
