Bridesmaid dress question?

Bridesmaid dress question?

So, I was going to have my girls get their dresses from RK Bridal but my MOH it bitching because she cant return it if it doesnt fit. I told her to get a size bigger and take it in (thats what I always do) and she doesnt want to because its an extra $20 plus alterations.

Do all BM stores not allow returns/exchanges? Is this common?

I would say that all of them don't allow exchanges.

Most places dont want you returning dresses anyway, she should just get the bigger size like you said.

i don't think stores really allow for dresses to be returned because most times they are custom ordered for color and such. why would she need to return it if she is fitted by the salon?

I dont know! I think she tried on the size at the salon sample and it fit but the saleslady said that everyone tries those dresses on so it probably strechted out and she should get a bigger size. I think she is just complaining because she cant exchange the size if she has to so that she doesnt have to alter it as much

It's always better to go bigger. My sister got her dress and her measurements were way under the size chart so she got the smallest size, which was a 2 and it didn't zip up all the way! Turns out her ribs are pretty big and we forgot so now we've gotta figure something out. It's easier to alter a larger size than something smaller. Would you consider offering to pay the extra $20 for her if she'll get the larger size? Maybe that'll help her decide.

i would rather alter a dress than it be too tight!!! i had a dress that was too small and OMG did i regret it!! so with my sisters wedding i got the size that fit/a little big on me in january. i lost a bunch of weight, but i would rather take some dress out then cut off my airways!!!

I really think she shouldn't complain and make you happy since its YOUR day.. I know sometimes you will have differences but she is the MOH and she should not stress you out as much...

None of the stores that I know of allow returns or exchanges. Do they cap the price of alterations? Maybe telling her that would put her more at ease.
