I told my sister I would go out with her this weekend to start to look for dresses for her... Where should I go?

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
We went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and had a good experience. We ended up finding and ordering dresses at RK Bridal. They have a ridiculously huge section of bridesmaid dresses.

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
did you get your dress yet? i would suggest going to the same salon bc they usually offer you a discount on bm dresses
if not i would go to wedding center of commack. i hear mixed reviews about their customer service but they seem to have the largest selection I have seen on long island. if you are just going to look it may be a good starting place

I havent started dress shopping or BM shopiing yet. How are the BM dress prices at Bridal Reflections? Are they reasonable compared to David's Bridal?

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
RK Bridal in NYC does have a huge selection, but be careful with their alterations department - not the best. (My mother had a bad experience with her MOB dress alterations.)
You could also try looking for gowns in department stores...especially since now is holiday party season and there is a large selection.
I used a beautiful Ralph Lauren satin gown for my bridesmaids that we found in Bloomingdales, and everyone was able to try it on in their size. Much easier, and no more expensive than a bridal store (especially with sales/coupons)!

I am going to Helen's! I had a great experience there with my gown. I worked with Ashley and Liz, they are both sweethearts!

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
The sales girl who helped me find my wedding dress at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place actually said NOT to go there for bridesmaid dresses because they are over prices. She said Massapequa prices are slightly better. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about prices at first, narrow down a dress then call all over the Island to find the best price for your girls.

Bridal Reflections in Massapequa has a huge selection of Brides Maid Dresses compared to Carle PLace and the prices were better.

I got my bm dresses from J. Crew.... They have some really pretty dresses, and tge men's dept has coordinating ties! It's def worth a look.
My girls ordered a bunch, and we had a big dress party at my house. Returned tge ones that didn't work. It was a blast!
And tgey can wear 'em again!

Look online so you have an idea of the styles you both like. A-line skirts tend to be most flattering on all figures.
I went to Bridal Reflections b/c I particularly liked Jim Hjelm dresses and they carry them there.

Why are the prices different at both locations?? Are they seperately owned?

Re: Bridesmaid dress shopping
My bridesmaids got their dresses at David's Bridal (Manhattan location). They love the dresses. I wanted the dresses in chocolate brown, but I let them choose the style of the dress. It worked out quite well, granted I only have three BMs. Good luck and happy hunting.
