Bridesmaid Dress Shopping

Bridesmaid Dress Shopping

Ok - So I was chatting with my mother today and she asked me if she was coming with when we go bridesmaid dress shopping. To me that is so strange, I wanted it to be a day with just my friends and sister. My mother is very sensitive to everything when it comes to the decision making involved with the wedding.

Are you ladies bringing your mothers with you?

My mom came with us. She also tried on some Mother of the bride dresses but she is very close with all of my bridesmaids so it really wasn't a problem having her there.

My mother came. My mom is so sensitive too. I can assure you if my mother didn't come the world would have ended. It ended up being a good day and we went to lunch after. I also brought fmil with me and my aunt decided to come. It was a great day!

My mom knows pretty much all my girls so I will ask her to come, along with fmil.
I did one day with just a few girls without my mom bc she couldn't make it. My moh was in from Florida for just a few days so there was no way to work around my mom.

I just went with my girls but after showed her the dresses we picked as well as the color scheme. My FMIL actually bought my dress as my mother and I have not spoke in over 10 years and I was so taken back by it. You can still have your girls day dress shopping and include her afterwards. Maybe ask her opinions in regards of accessories with the dress and ask her opinion on possible gifts for your girls. That way she still feels a part of the process even though she may not be there physically. Worth a try.

I asked both of the moms to come. I knew they would both want to come and I don't think it's weird at all.
