Oscar La Renta Dress? Sort of 50s style, tea length, fitted bodice, poofy skirt. Anyone know if there is a BM dress manufacter making this style?

Hi Stefanie! I don't known if it is exactly what you are looking for, but I've seen tea length strapless dresses by Watters&Watters, and Thread. Not alot of 'poof' though.
Maybe someone else has some ideas.....
Good luck with your search!

Thanks Wendy :D
Im a MOH for a friend and she was saying how she would love to use a very retro style dress like this but was afraid we (bridesmaids)wouldnt like it. Well, I love it and think its fabulous..so i wanted to find some like it but havent had much luck.
Figured the brides here would know if it existed or not.

If I am remembering right- Alfred Angelo has a few cute dresses like that- a little poofy. They jsut came out in his new spring line. Thread definitley does too. I thinkits a good idea to find the style, which shouldnt be too hard and then add another layer of whatever the material is underneath- did you do a search on the knot?

What do you think of this? It is a Jim Hjelm Occasions dress, style #JH0045, Capri matte taffeta strapless A-Line tea-length gown with natural waist and exposed tulle at hem.
I searched on weddingchannel and all i found were tea length dresses that didnt have poof.
Thanks :D
Thats sort of it but it has to have a defined waist. Like tight on top and then POOF instead of a gradual poof. Am I making sense?

I just saw a dress that looked exactly like that at Barney's.

They have that exact dress in Lord & Taylor...one of my BMs and I were drooling all over it a few weeks ago. But it's over $3000. and hooked up to wires, otherwise we definitely would have tried it on just for fun!

I saw a VERY similar dress at Macy's of all places. Sure, it wasn't exact, but it was also fairly inexpensive.

Also, if you are just looking for tea length fitted style, not a replica of Carrie's dress try Jessica McClintock, Thread and Siri. Not sure if they have puffy skirts though. Another good place to look is on the nordstrom site, they have a lot of dresses in that style out now, since it's a popular style for the spring.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll check around in the stores.
There are a lot of great tea length styles out there but she is looking for something very retro like this.
Sonicstef, ABS makes a lookalike dress and I saw it in a Macy's catalog I got yesterday in the mail (can't find a pic on the web). Only difference was that it has a black belt, but otherwise it is very similar!
