i have a question...i have 5 bridesmaids ranging from 4 foot 11 and 80 lbs to 5 foot 11 and 160 lbs...2 are dark skinned the others are light skinned...they all look different in dresses...they agreed on coral since its a summer wedding BUT would it be odd if they all wore two piece dresses same skirt but different SIMPLE tops? My soon to be sister in law seems to think it odd but shes a toothpick and looks good in nearly anything...need some opinions...thanks

Re: bridesmaid dresses
I had a similar issue with my BM's - all heights, shapes, sizes, weights, so what I did was pick a desginer, and then took my SIL, and FUture SIL and we tried on about 20 different dresses and narrowed it down to 3, and I let each BM pick which dress looked best on them. They are all the same color and material of course.
Now all my BM's will have a dress they look and feel comfortable in.
Hope this helps!!!

Re: bridesmaid dresses
I'm in my brother's BP and his FI picked the Alfred Angelo separates. We're all wearing the A-line skirt and we got to pick different tops. I don't think it's odd.

Re: bridesmaid dresses
I think its a great idea to do the different tops with the A line skirt....if its all the same color and fabric it will still look great!
I am in a wedding in two weeks...there are 6 of us and we all have different dresses from the same designer, same color and fabric.

Re: bridesmaid dresses
I thought about doing the same thing, but all my BM's look like models...HA!!! Anyway, I think that would be gorgeous and make each girl feel comfortable in what she's wearing.

Re: bridesmaid dresses
I wanted to let my sister pick out her dress. I am having a MOH and no BM. I am not sure we agree 100% on a dress. So, I have decided I will pay for it and then I am ok w/making the final decision. I am going to see about making the strapless into a halter so she will be comfortable. I am one of the few brides who think the bride should buy the dress if she wants 100% control. JMO.
