I am going to shop for BM dresses in June. The girls are going to be picking their own dresses the only thing is I don't know what material to go with? I love Satin for a winter wedding but i also love Chiffon..lol One of my girls is skinny and the other one is on the chunkier side so what do I do??

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses
I don't like chiffon and thought I would go satin all the way, but when the girls actually tried on the dresses they looked GREAT in the chiffon.
I've been told, find the dress that fits the bigger girl and the rest will work. My MOH is a little bigger than my other girls and she loved the chiffon, but we haven't made any decisions yet.
When my mom went through the photos from the store she said the chiffon dress didn't show up as nicely as the satin, BUT that was under fluorescent lighting at the store so I'm not swayed quite yet.

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses
If your girls are different sizes maybe think about picking one color, fabric and designer (all the same) and then letting them pick a dress within those guid lines that look best on them. Thats What I'm going to do. I think its really hard to find one dress that looks good one everyone. I know i have been stuck wering a dress i hate at weddings and it kind of puts a damper on the day you know. Just a suggestion!!

This is what I did. I have eleven (!!) bridesmaids. I chose a color/fabric/designer/length. They can choose their own dresses. It's also nice because nobody can say 'oh man, that dress is so expensive!' or 'I hate this dress!'

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses
Chiffon is nice but def more spring/summery....You def have to be careful with it bc I wore it for a wedding once and we sprayed perfume and it got all stained and you can see spots all over the dress. We thought the store messed it up til one of the girls sprayed something and we were like OMG you can see that! so if you go chiffon invest in some smocks!
