Bridesmaid Dresses

We picked out the bridesmaid dress but have not ordered them yet. I know I need to order them SOON!! I have a dillemma, one of my bridesmaids is pregnant and is not due until August 31. I want to order the dresses ASAP, how do we determine what size to order hers?

just speak to the seamstress.. i had the same problem with my MOH. They measured her, and then somehow calculated what they believed she would be. They said they could always take it in!

I had the same thing with my FSIL; the ladies at the bridal place just asked her what size she was about before she got pregnant and they ordered a size larger just in case she didn't lose the baby weight. And if she does, they'll just take it in

Thank you! I will do that. How long does it usually take for the dresses to come in?

I have a very similar situation - one of my BM's is due 8/22. She was measured by the dress shop when she was about 3 months pregnant- even though we hadn't decided for sure on a dress. She was able to try on the dress we were thinking about (and wound up getting), but also tried on a different dress from the same manufacturer in a larger size (which was about one size too big for her at that point). Then, they had her order a dress one size up from the larger size dress.

We just ordered the dresses on 5/2 and were told they'd be in between mid and late July

omg i had the same problem, my bridesmaid ended up dropping out because her due date was 3 weeks before my wedding date. But before she dropped out we were talking about how to measure her for the dress. We were thinking that first time mom's usually gain anywhere from 15 - 20 pounds, not to mention bridesmaid dresses run small so we thought we would get her dress 2 - 3 times bigger than her normal size. That way she still has room to alter the dress down depending on how much weight she lost after giving birth. But i noticed that your friend is due in August and your wedding is in Nov, that gives her 3 months to lose the weight so you have some extra time. I say order the dress maybe one size up and definitely get an empire waist dress if you could.
