So today my MOH, one of my bridesmaids and I went looking around for bridesmaid dresses to get an idea of what would flatter everyone's figure. It was a total disaster! I only went with two girls and the different opinons drove me crazy! Now I'm all stressed out hoping that I can make them all happy and that they all look nice in whatever we decide. This so much harder than I expected it to be!

Bridesmaid Dresses
This is why I'm not taking anyone to look for dresses. I'm going to decide on a dress and tell them which one it is. It may sound mean but I'm not listening to people bicker and complain like I've heard some bridesmaids do in weddings I've been in.

Oh gosh I'm dealing with the same thing right now! All my bridesmaids are completely different sizes and shapes! I'm trying really hard right now to pick a dress that will flatter everyone but I can only do so much. Plus, the dresses are going to be black. How much more could I do to flatter them? Haha

I'm seriously about to do just that! It's my vision, my wedding, MY decision. It's nice to have an opinion and stuff, but if it's going to be this complicated and add to the stresses of planning my wedding than I'd rather make the decision myself!
Congrats on being BOTW btw!

I have the opposite bridal party (with the exception of one). They are so supportive and seemed to like everything lol Just pick what YOU like and think will look good. You'll be fine. Maybe bring the biggest girl with you only... I know it sounds awful but if it looks good on her and she feels comfortable in it then it will look good on everyone.

That's the attitude I have. Though I do have very supportive bridesmaids so I wouldn't have an issue. But I have been in bridal parties where I haven't liked the dress and haven't like the way I looked but I wore it because it wasn't about me. It was about the bride. If they love you and I'm sure they do they will wear what you choose.
Thanks

I plan on going with my Sister (MOH) and FSIL (BM) and hoping to pick out two dresses then whoever wants to come see them can vote and majority rules. That's my plan for now. Who knows how it will turn out. Lol

I've already begun to put it in my BMs heads that I have a color and material in mind. I also told them that I make the final decision. I plan to keep their wants in mind. For instance, my best friend doesn't feel comfortable in strapless. She hasn't worn strapless once in the 15 years we've known each other. But at the end of the day, I'm making the decision based on what I want.
I know it sounds selfish, but these girls should be willing to wear a potato sack with a belt around it if that's what you want. It's one day of their lives. You may want to keep them happy, but remember that you're the one who has to look at the photos for the rest of your life.
2. Tell them 'It has to be black. It has to be floor length. It has to be chiffon. And it has to be by [insert specific designer here].'

All my girls are wearing different dresses for this reason. One will like the strapless while the other wants the halter. I can't deal. I picked out like 10 different dresses and told them to pick their top three favorites. If you give them too much freedom, they go crazy and stress out the bride.

Ugh. I definitely understand. My MOH was difficult when it came to dresses but I finally found one she loved and I actually loved better than my original choice!

This is exactly what I'm doing. I choose cranberry chiffon dresses Bill Levkoff dresses that are floor length. They also can't have any jewel encrusted stuff on the dress (although I might change my mind on that). I have 10 girls, and I just didn't want to go through the stress of it!! Plus I actually really like the mismatched look :)
