Bridesmaid Dresses

Hi all,
I'm new here and I needed some advice on bridesmaid dress shopping. We went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa on Saturday to buy my dress (Darnell was fabulous and hit it on the first try) and we looked at some dresses for my girls. I was upset that my MOH couldn't try any on because none would go over her hips! She's not a plus sized girl- normal dresses in Lord and Taylor in a size 12-14 would fit her. She was so upset and I can't buy a dress without her fitting it on! Any suggestions on what I can do? I know the designers only ship sample sizes to these stores. I want her to look as good as I do that day!!
Thanks!

I had that problem with one of my bridesmaids too. She just didn't try on the dresses. :-/. Can you call up and ask if they have plus sizes? I know David's bridal does, but I don't know if you wanted to go there. P

I had the same problem there with my BM's...they had maybe 5 sample dresses size 12+. I wound up bringing my other bridesmaids that are different sizes/body types that fit into the samples to get the idea, and I made my decision.

I brought all of my girls to the wedding center and they range in size from 4-18 and they had plenty to choose from, as well as, had some dresses in multiple sizes. I really recommend them.

This was the most frustrating part about having my girls try on dresses. my FH's niece got so frustrated she didn't even want to look at dresses anymore. I did go to the David's Bridal in the city on 6th avenue and they had plenty of bigger sizes. The dresses went all the way up to 20. I also went to RK Bridal and Here Comes the Bride and both of those went up to about a 14. Also, another option, which I've just started looking into is Weddington Way. You can shop online for dresses with your girls and they even do this thing where you can try it on before you buy it. They ship it to you and if you don't send it back (in their prepaid package) within two days, you pay the full price for it. I just order a swatch from them to see the color and material I'm thinking about in person.

Ugh! What a pain in the butt! Try David's Bridal.
