Hi all! I am almost at the point where I will be asking my bridesmaids to be in my wedding, but before I do I would really like to have an IDEA of the type of dress I would like them to wear. I'm always concerned about price. I've been in a few weddings with bridesmaid dresses of very different price points. Inexpensive dresses and expensive dresses both have their pros and cons. I'm just curious what you chose to go with. Quality and the absolute perfect look, or price. How did you decide? And what is considered 'expensive' for a bridesmaid dress to you?

Good question! I think I'm going to try to keep dresses under $200. I think I am also picking a designer that has multiple looks for the same style and having them choose. I'm going with satin and lace, this way if price is an issue for them they can opt for the cheapest option!

I havent gone bm dress shopping yet but I got some ideas from weddington way of what I liked. I am going to show the girls the dresses and then go withthem to try them on in the store. If they are more in the store we might consider going through weddington way for the dresses although I am a little hesitant to purchase online.
I spent around 200-250 the last time I was in a wedding and I was okay with that - but you also need to figure in alterations because those can certainly add up! Maybe after you ask them to be in your wedding, talk to them about what they are comfortable spending on a dress?

I haven't gone shopping yet but the salon I purchased my gown from does BM dresses and they cap at $300 WITH alterations. I spoke to all of my girls about it and they all seem to agree that's about average. I am hoping we can find some dresses that we all like that are under that though. I don't want to kill my BMs but at the same time, I spent more then that on my last BM dress so I don't think it's too bad

Choosing bridesmaid dresses has been one of my least favorite tasks so far. I am feeling guilty about the cost plus trying to make everyone somewhat happy.
I was just in a wedding and spent around $300 for a floor length dress including alterations. However, I am trying to keep mine under $150. Ideally under $100 although I don't know how realistic that is.
I haven't physically looked at any dresses yet, but right now my two favorite options are from Little Borrowed Dress and For Her & For Him. LBD has nice colors and styles and gives you the option to rent or buy. FH&FH dresses are beautiful, but pricier.

I'm hoping to keep the dresses about average for the girls which seems to be around $200 from reading different posts on here. I haven't researched it much yet. I don't want them spending tons of money but I want the dresses to look great on everyone

I'm considering choosing two birds convertible dresses, but they're $270. They do not require alterations, which cuts down on that. I just don't want to break the bank for them. Everything that I've looked at that isn't two birds that I actually like are $200 before alterations, and they add up! It's so tough. I don't necessarily want to go the David's bridal route.
