Are you picking a dress out and that is the dress everyone will wear?
Are you narrowing it down to a couple of dresses and having your BMs choose which one? (everyone wears the same)
Are you picking out a designer/color/material and having them each pick their own dress? Edited: Does anyone have pics of this??
i just dont know how to go about this. we went BM dress shopping and i picked a bunch of dresses beforehand. They were all tried on and i really like a particular dress (a dress i loved online) and two ladies of my BP like it but dont love it and want to keep looking.
Help! Any suggestions??

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses Dilemma
I chose the designer/color/material and selected a few they may like but were not forced to picked from those. All of my BM's chose the dresses i had picked out because the dresses flattered them so well they didn't need to look any further.

I chose designer/fabric/color and let the girls choose their own style. Some of them will be wearing the same, some won't.

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses Dilemma
I went BM dress shopping with my girls and it wasn't the most productive thing...so I picked out a dress that I knew would be flattering on everyone...i tried it on and my mom tried it on (two VERY different body types) and then I just told them what dress, what color and where to order

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses Dilemma
I brought my two sisters (MOH's) and FSIL (BM) to look at dresses. The three of them narrowed it down to two choices. Then I emailed pics of the two dresses to the rest of the BM's and had them vote. Then I took the rest of the BP to try on the dress that won the vote......it looked great on everyone, they all liked it, so that's the one we chose

I have the same problem you want to please everyone, you want everyone to be happy in their dress.... But we can't, just know that. And remember it is your day! So if your in love with a bridesmaid dress, and this is what you invision for your day, then they will have to suck it up
Sorry for being blunt, but its your day no matter how you slice it!

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses Dilemma
I let the girls choose. I didn't even have a designer in mind...I just preferred the gowns be black and white since it's a black and white wedding. We went one place...they all seemed undecided. Then while standing outside of the second place, I told the girls that they call all chose DIFFERENT gowns as long as they were black and white and from the same manufacturer so the black was all the same shade. It just soo happened they all liked the same one..except for my junior bridesmaid who felt it was a little mature for her.. she ended up getting a beautiful long black gown with white sash..... They're paying for them so they should at least like them a little! Hehe... :)

I am picking the color/designer/material they can pick the dress. I want them to be comfortable. To me letting them pick is one less stressful thing on my plate.

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses Dilemma
I had no dress in mind when I went shopping with one of my BM...I took the one who had the most issues (huge boobs, VERRRRRY skinny) and we just went through the racks picking out dresses we liked on the basis that I wanted a chiffon dress (its going to be the middle of july...I wanted them to be cool).
We tried on a bunch of dresses and their were two she really liked so I brought my other BM back to try them on and they both chose the same one.
My MOH has GINOROUS breasts so she chose a completely different dress. I really just wanted everyone to be comfortable and feel beautiful on that day...then their smiles will be genuine and they will enjoy themselves.

Re: Bridesmaid Dresses Dilemma
I picked 4 that are all the same color/fabric/designer, and are all tea length with a sash, and let each of my bridesmaids pick whichever from the lot they want. They loved that they could get what fits their individual bodies, and I love photos where they are not cookie cutter (The Knot has lots of photos from their 'real weddings').
