i am thinking of going with different shades of blue........... to go with our nautical theme...... The flowers will be blue & white hydrangeas..... My sister just said won't it look funny to have blue dresses and black tuxes? I haven't picked a specific dress yet but have a few in mind. They do seem to come in several colors.... My friend who is doing the flowers suggested off white dresses with blue or navy sashes.....
Please let me know your thought on blue dresses with black tuxes....... I could also do dark blue suits.... I will check with FH if he really wants to wear a tux?????

i think that a lot of shades of blue look really nice next to a black tux. I'll try to post some pics, but i think they're are a few girls who have blue BM dresses on here
no black suits are fine even charcoal grey suits are nice

I think it looks great together. I am doing Brown and thought it might look strange at first, but you would be surprised. If you like blue you should go with it!!!

I think that Dark Blue dresses next to the black tux would be Great Actually!!! I had a similar prob with my girls - They are wearing Dark Brown - But I didn't want to do Brown Tuxes (too much dooty color!LOLOLOL) - But a Black tux with a Matching Brown Vest to the Girls would be great I think!!
I say - Black Tux - Blue Vest (to match the girls regardless of the shade) and a bout in a lighter blue or with a white hydrangea! Dont worry! It will look Fabulous!!

i am doing dark blue, almost navy dresses with black tuxes, mens wearhouse has a great vest color, style is called rio and color called midnight.....
i think it looks hot, but i love blue

Black and blue look fine together.
As someone else mentioned, I'm also doing brown dresses and was worried about it with black tuxes. But honestly, in pictures, the colors don't look bad together at all.
I think it only really looks bad if the actual person was wearing a mixed color combo. For example, if someone is wearing a blue dress or a brown dress and then wears black shoes. Maybe then it might not look right.
But the black tuxes on the guys really do like fine against any dress.

a friend of mine got married and chose cornflower blue for the girls, black tuxes with blue vests for the guys, and bright yellow flowers. It looked GORGEOUS. Check us out:
