So I was talking to my parents tonight about bridesmaid gifts. It just kinda came up randomly and they suggested maybe paying for the girls' dresses and then getting them a little something extra that doesn't cost much. I kinda like the idea but I don't know. Do you think my bridesmaids would appreciate that?

Re: Bridesmaid gift?
I think they would like that - less money they have to spend - I think it is very generous because i am not paying anything near that for gifts

I think they would definitely appreciate that. It's one less expense they have to worry about.

I think that's a great idea. If I could afford to do that for my girls, I would.

Re: Bridesmaid gift?
I think that is a great present... You can make a necklace for the girls to wear. They have those classes at AC Moore and Michaels.
I think its a good idea. I am thinking about doing this same thing - BUT I don't want to have to buy them something else in addition to this. It would be something very small if anything...

thats very generous of you... maybe if youre not looking to spend as much, what about paying for their hair or makeup?

Re: Bridesmaid gift?
I think that is a great gift! It would be such a weight lifted off of them... and in return they may do something even nicer for you! The only con is that it isn't too sentimental of a gift, but I would take that gift over sentimental!

Re: Bridesmaid gift?
that was my concern, that it wasnt sentimental enough. i dont wanna pay for hair and makeup cuz some of them are getting theirs done before they come over the day of. so i kinda like the idea of paying for the dress. ill just have to be careful of the price of it! lol other than that, i like the idea of making a necklace or finding something little to go along with the dress so that could be the little sentimental something i give them

Re: Bridesmaid gift?
imo - i don't really like the idea...i know being a bridesmaid includes the cost of a dress, i would rather the bride give me something more meaningful to show her appreciation.

Re: Bridesmaid gift?
I paid the deopist of my girl's dresses and that was half of their dress which was about a $100 per girl. They were so grateful and really appreciated it. I am also thinking about just adding another little gift but not sure yet.

ITA. I like the idea of a meaningful gift over just buying a dress. All BMs expect to buy the dress anyway.
