Well i asked one of my girlfriends to be in my wedding party and her response was 'i'll have to think about it' she said she didn't think we were close anymore and wasn't sure if she would want to. Now this is my most dramatic friend. Along with her usually comes major issues. Anyway,i am wishing i hadn't even asked her to begin with. I am feeling bad about the situation and guilty for not being a better friend. uhg! I am very confused, kind of hurt, and sort of angry.

Re: bridesmaid issues
If that is how she feels then it's good to know now and not later. You can't force her, I guess it's just best to move on and be with friends who care. Sorry!
ETA- A friend of mine asked me to be her MOH who I thought I wasn't really close with anymore. After much consideration I said yes, basiclly because I knew she didn't have anyone else, and because she wanted me to be, so I kinda understand where she is coming from. How often do you talk to her?

Re: bridesmaid issues
It's best to know now. I've had two girls drop out within a few months of the wedding.

Re: bridesmaid issues
I was in a similar situation. I had a BM that i recently kicked out of my BP because we just weren't close anymore and she'd been acting very weird and making very rude comments since i got engaged. i kinda wish she had just done what your 'friend' did and been upfront with me that she didn't want to be in the BP. it would've saved us both alot of time and money. think of it as a blessing in disguise. count your blessings that she was upfront and now you can avoid drama.

Re: bridesmaid issues
I would definitely accept her no for all the reasons stated above.... Say don't worry about it and then do not includ her.
Definitely dont feel like a bad friend! People go their own directions and you never know what their issues are!

i agree with what everyone has been saying. it's your day and she shouldn't make you feel like a bad friend or feel guilty when this is such a happy and exciting time for you!
