Bridesmaid problem

Bridesmaid problem

Ok, so my best friend is causing me so many problems.
First I have an older sister who will be my MOH, so shes upset with that, because she wants MOH
Second, she says im being selfish because the dresses I chose are too expensive, but for a Vera Wang dress it is NOT expensive. I told her I would pay for it just so we wouldn't fight anymore. Meanwhile I am paying for a wedding, and I pretty much have zero money and no job.
Third, she wants to walk down the aisle with another bridesmaid, not one of the groomsmen because she doesnt know him. Has anyone heard of a bridesmaid going down the aisle with someone u dont know?
I had to do it, I didnt even care. Shes flipping out at me.
She makes me feel terrible, shes my best friend and I never fight with her and I dont understand, during this most stressful time for me, why she has to strart now. I just needed to vent that and see if anyone had similar problems.

im sorry but sounds like your BF is being a little pain in the butt.

You have every right to have your own blood as your MOH and your BF should understand that.

As for your BM dresses, did any of your other BMs voice a concern about the cost of the dresses? I know that I'm helping to pitch in for part of my BM's hair cost because it is a tad expensive (90 w/tip). Maybe you could offer to pay for a portion of it if you really want them to wear Vera Wang? I definitely dont think you should pay for all of it.

And i think she's being difficult by not wanting to walk w/a groomsman that she doesnt know...people do it all the time!!!

I am sorry that you have to deal with this. I have seen bridesmaids walk down together. Although this happened when the women were not escorted by the men or the bridal party was uneven.

I agree, you have every right to chose who you want to be your MOH. Anyone who complains about that is just being petty. Let her complain.

Good luck.

i have to agree that your BF is being a pain in the butt.:) Its very often that bridesmaids walk down the aisle with guys that htey dont know. Shes an adult, I am sure she can handle it. If you want her to walk down wiht a groomsman then thats how it should be. As a bridesmaid shes suppose to help you out in stressful situations, not add more.

I do have to say that I dont think she is overreacting about the dress. It should have been discussed among all of the girls about how much htey were willing to spend on the dress. YOu say its not that expensive considering its Vera Wang, but maybe it is still to expensive forf her to be spending. I think its very nice of you to offer to pay for it, but mayube now that you have offered to pay for it, you might be able to see how it a little too expensive if you dont have the money for it.

Just talk to her and let her know how you feel. Everything will work out in the end. Best of luck

I'm sorry but it seems as though your BF is forgetting who's wedding it is. I would have a talk with her because she's just going to add more stress to your planning and you really don't need that.

Good Luck

She doesn't know the guy? So what! Seems to me, that she needs to be a grown-up. The ladies in my BP will not know any of the groomsmen at all. FH and I did not share a social circle so our friends would never cross paths. They could care less about who they walk down with. Their participation in the wedding is to support FH and me. A true friend wouldn't make a stink.

As far as the dress goes, if you offer to pay or help with paying, then she really should calm down.

sounds like BF is acting out - it doesn't matter what the situation is, she'll find something to be angry about. most likely she's upset because she feels like she going to lose you or something like that. you really should talk to her and let her know how she is making you feel.

She's being a brat about walking down the aisle with someone she doesn't know. I would just say tuff. I've been in weddings where I did not know my partner. You only walk down the aisle with them. maybe dance, that's it for the rest of the night. Tell her to grow up!

the dress price might be a little high, I personally would not make my girls buy a Vera Wang dress for one night. I'm letting them pick out the dress (I'm picking color only) I want them to be comfortable and pay what they feel they can afford. just a small thought on that aspect.

In regards to everything else, she seems pretty childish, and you don't need that crap before your wedding. (of course your going to pick your sister for MOH!) I know some people don't because they aren't close to their sisters but blood is thicker than water in MOST cases.

Re: Bridesmaid problem

I'm also having problems with one of my close friends who is in my bp. She gave me problems about the dress and i didn't even pick it I let them all pick it but she couldn't agree on one with the other girls! She questioned why she should have to buy a dress she doesn't like. Well that unfortunately happens when you are in someone else's wedding! The dress wasn't even that expensive compared to other dresses, it was about 120! Which I think isn't that bad. She did in the end like the dress but now has complainants about other things!

I think your bf is being a pain. She is causing you more stress during a very stressful time in your life. She should be helping you and supporting you. (as I wish my friend would)
I think it was nice of you to offer to buy her dress for her. I don't know how much the dress is, but when i think of vera wang I think of fairly expensive, so I probably just won't have picked that even if i loved it, because I know I wouldn't be able to afford it.

She is being silly by refusing to walk down the aisle with someone she doesn't know. It isn't like she even has to talk to him, just walk down. A child could do that!
I think you need to talk to you bf. She is probably hurt you didn't choose her to be your moh, but you had every right to choose your sister. I know I chose mine over my friend and let me tell you I'm glad I did! If she is that upset about it and isn't willing to participate fully in your wedding, then maybe she shouldn't be in it. Is is worth all the grief she is giving you? I have been agonizing over this question myself.
