okay so two of my cousins backed out of my wedding party today. I really want to have 7 girls to match with my fh's 7 guys. I do have other close friends I didn't ask cause I didn't want to go crazy with the bridal party. would it be wrong to ask them now? are they going to be like what am I a last resort? or feel bad? or be offended? or will they just be happy I asked?

Ask away. You still have plenty of time. The worst they can do is say no.

Re: bridesmaid question
i had the same thing happen to me ~ my 2 BM backed out 8 months before my wedding day... I did not ask anyone to fill in for them - we are mismatched! but you have a lot of time - you can still ask away...

I've never even heard of a bridesmaid backing out. Why did they do it, and how did they go about telling you?? Either way, I think you should go ahead and ask your other friends.

Re: bridesmaid question
my daughter had something similar. She had 6 girls and 6 guys. One girl decided to get married 6 days before her. One of the other girls was friends with her & my daughter. Well, the first girl and my daughter had some disagreements so she dropped out. Then this other girl kept trying to get them back to talking. didn't work. She said she found it difficult to be friends with both girls, so she's out too. Leaving 4 girls. Two of the others are FH 40 something cousin & her 17 yr. old daughter. Well, they looked for dresses and found one. This cousin had problems with the place where they saw the dresses. She bought her daughters prom dress there and had some problems (this is where my daughter bought her gown) Anyway this cousin didn't want to do any business with this store. Also we had decided that this style dress would not look good on one of her matrons of honor (her Godmother) The cousin told us to find another dress. So the other girls looked & found something they love. BUT the cousin looked at a picture of it and said her daughter HATED it and she didn't like it and wouldn't wear it!!She gave my daughter an ultimatum: either she lets her and her daughter pick out another dress or they won't be in the bridal party!! Her daughter refused to even try the dress on and she said she'd try it on but she would NEVER buy it. She told her FH since it's his cousin. he said to give another chance to change her mind.He and everyone we showed the dress to loved it. My daughter called her and she stuck to her guns. The cousin wouldn't change her mind. Said there's no hard feelings but she can't afford to buy a dress she doesn't like or will ever wear again. So.........her and her daughter are out too, leaving 2 girls & 6 guys. Talk about uneven!! She really doesn't have any other girls to ask, so we're just leaving it like this. We really don't have a choice. Two of the guys are brothers to this cousin who backed out! She just didn't want tospend the $$. She even told FSIL that she wouldn't be able to chip in for the bridal shower! I feel bad for my daughter, but there's really nothing we can do. Check out www.billlevkoff.com style 555. What do you think? Is the dress bad? They're getting it in brown.

one cousin is going into the army June something. that's understandable. the other one supposedly is moving out on her own and 'can't afford' to be in a wedding party. we just think she's cheap. the dresses are only $140! but whatever. no one understands how she's so cheap because both parents aren't. than again my dad is cheap and I am no way cheap lol. when I take my girls for nails, dinner, and give nice gifts maybe she'll wish she hadn't been cheap. ***** for her though.

wow, that dress isn't bad. some people are just crazy. I'm still sort of upset at my one cousin. being asked to be in a bridal party is a big thing, it's something to be proud of. I would never back out no matter what, even if I hated the dress. I finally asked my good friend again to be in it today. she wasn't going to be in it because of money problems. I have to have the wedding party even, I'm just I guess sort of crazy like that lol. or have more girls than guys. the guys are already bigger, I rather even have 1 more girl just so it looks even in pictures. with the guys being bigger even with an even amount of girls it will still probably look like more men. I like lucky #7 though. thank god I have more friends I can ask. I just hope I don't offend any of them asking now. it's only been like 3 months though.

Re: bridesmaid question
No you have 10 months I don't think they will feel like they are a last resort . . . unless you tell them that you are using them specifically to replace your two cousins who dropped out.

nah I'm not even doing that. I would have asked like 10 girls but I stopped at 7. now two dropped out so I want to ask 2 more. I just don't want them to feel that way. I just hope they believe me and aren't like she would have never thought of me or something.

I'm starting to think I have bad female friends. I asked one who was originally in it but got out cause of money issues. she of course was like omg now I can yes. we even went right out and got her dress yesterday along with ym other girl. then I asked another girl as the last one to be 7 and she's like I can't. with no explanation. all she does is work. aren't jobs pretty easy going on wedding stuff? I wouldn't think it'd be impossible to be in someones bridal party cause of work.
