my wedding is the end of april and i really wanted all the bridesmaid dresses to be ordered by the sixth month mark, which is approximately november. here's the situation, i'm allowing all the girls to pick out their own dress style as long as the colors match and they're all tea length. the only problem is that one of my bm's is in alaska. the next time she'll be back is for christmas. there are no jim hjelm stores in alaska or anywhere near there. the question is, should i wait until december for her to come back to try on dresses or should i tell her to pick something she likes on the website without trying it on and order it for her? don't know what to do. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!

Two of my BM's did not try on the dress, and it's no big deal. They both are thin, and will look good in anything.
So, if she is the type of girl who will look good in anything - I say get her measurements and order it - if she is okay with it.
If not, it's not the end of the world to wait, as long as the store you order them from says that the dress can get in on time.

I would wait for Dec till she could try it on...then maybe have it rush ordered if you need to...
My friend was in Ireland before her sisters wedding and they just ordered a dress for her and it was way too big and needed alot of alterations...

If the store can have them in ontime, just wait. Have all of your other bridesmaids dresses picked out and measured so once she picks her the order can be placed that day!

One of my bridesmaids didn't try on the dress first, but all of my girls are wearing the same style. I showed her a pic of the dress, she liked it, and has a similar body type to my other BMs. She could have gone to a dress shop to try it on but she just got measured in the city and called in her measurements.
