Hi ladies. Hoping you can help. I'm a past bride, that is now a bridesmaid. I need ideas as to what to do or give the bride to be. The wedding party would like to do something special for her besides the traditional gifts off her registry. Anyone get something unique or special they really loved from their bridesmaids? Thanks!

Re: Bridesmaid question
The last wedding shower I went to...all the brides chipped in and brought the bride and groom a new BBQ grill and the cooking tools to go with it.

Re: Bridesmaid question
how about a lladro or armani bride & groom statue that they can also use as a cake topper and keep forever??
JUST MAKE SURE THEY DON'T ACTUALLY PUT IT ON THE CAKE...MY UNCLE DID AND BROKE IT!

I gave my sister a really nice Coach bag. She never would have spent the $ on one for herself. She buys her bags at Target (only when they are on sale! ). She luved it!

I have a great idea...and I think she will be very appreciative - get her a gift certificate to the place she is getting her hair and makeup done! My friends coworkers did that for her and she was so shocked/happy/surprised that she burst into tears! All those little things add up!!!

Re: Bridesmaid question
At my engagement party, my girls presented us with a huge basket full of candles, chocolates, wine, crystal glasses, lingerie, some x-rated goodies.....and a beautiful hand-made card that said, 'our gift to you is a surprise getaway for the night of your wedding. a car will be provided to take you to your pre-honeymoon love nest. hopefully you will find everything you need in this basket'. I'm so thrilled to have a private, surprise moment to share with DH the night of our wedding. We hired a string quartet for the cocktail hour for our last friend who was engaged. You can also have something special planned for them when they arrive to their honeymoon location.

Re: Bridesmaid question
I put together a honeymoon basket for a good friend - I just used a basket but you could purchase a piece of luggage from the registry and do the same thing.
It had 2 nice beach towels (no one ever registers for these!) Just married flip flops underwater camera sunscreen and after sun lotion Lots of travel sized items - small aspirin, small tissues, etc. Lingerie Bath things, i.e. bath oil, fizzie balls Travel candles Books for the honeymoon or a Barnes and Noble gift card would be good Could also do a nice beach bag, sunglasses, etc.

Re: Bridesmaid question
for my FBILs wedding the bridal party surprised them with a steel drum band for cocktail hour-- we knew they both really wanted it but didnt want to spend the money so all 10 of us pitched in, FBIL started crying when he walked into cocktail hour!
