Bridesmaid Shoes -Poll

Do they have to match exactly?

I wouldn't necessarily do black - silver or gold are nice options, and you can just tell them to buy a 'gold strappy shoe', instead of insisting they all buy the same shoe, or worse yet, making them dye a shoe to match the dress

IMO, Matching BM shoes is not something your guests will remember.

I may ask my BMs to buy cheap dyables at payless for $20 and have them dyed to match. If they don't match, it doesn't really matter to me.

I think it all depends on the bridesmaid dress... I believe that if its a long dress... then shoes dont really matter - but like for me - i am probably going to get tea length dresses for my girls and since the shoe will DEFINITELY be seen... have them get the same shoes and dye them.. JMHO

I'm asking my girls to get silver strappy sandals. I don't think anyone but you will notice or care if their shoes match. Pick a color (black, silver, etc.) or have them choose a pair of dyeable shoes that they can dye black afterwards if they want. My biggest suggestion would be to let them choose the specific shoes - they're already spending $$$ on being in your wedding, let them get shoes they love or at least not spend a lot on shoes they will never wear again.

my dresses are black- so I said any black shoes they own

for the wedding I was just in- we were allowed to wear gold or silver

My BM's shoes will be some where in the gold, champagne family, but as for the style they will match each other exactly

My girls wore a long red dress -- I left the shoe choice up to my sister since she cares about this sort of thing much more than I did.

She told everyone to wear a black dress shoe. It looked fine and save people some cash -- since pretty much everyone owns a black shoe.

Even with a short dress I don't think you should make everyone wear the same shoe -- some people have really weird feet making a common shoe hard to find.

Black wasn't one of the choices I gave my girls. I told them any silver strappy sandal or dyed to match pump which ever they all agreed on. They picked silver strappy sandal. I will see them for the first time about 2 days before the wedding. Not a detail I'm really concerned about.

IMO, no. But it really depends on the dress. I'd rather them have something that they feel good in (nobody's looking at their feet!) and can wear again, instead of going crazy trying to match!

I'm not asking my girls to dye their shoes to match. The dress is pink... so I'm thinking silver strappies. Hopefully they'll already have a pair, then they don't have to go out and buy new shoes.

i am buying my girls either silver strappy sandles or dyables to match their light pink tea length dress. having the same height shoe is important to me bc they will all have their dress the same length from the floor so its not uneven in pics (i can do this bc they are all practically the same height). bc i want them in the same shoe, i am paying for them as part of their gift---one less thing for them to pay for, bc its not cheap to be a bm. ~lacey

My girls are wearing a long gown. You will not see there feet. I told them have fun get silver, or dyables what ever they wanted it is there feet.

IMO w/ long dresses you don't really see their feet anyway. I would much rather have a happy BM where her feet were comfortable in her shoes that she picked out than to have it the other way

My girls' dresses are navy, so I asked that they have shoes dyed to match the dress.

If the dresses are black then I think black shoes are fine. It's the samw thing as somebody dying their shoes to match the COLOR of the dress. besides...your the star that day!

Firt I thought we would dye to match but then Ir ealized that it would be much more practical for the ladies to wear silver. The truth is, the dresses are to the floor and nobody will see their feet. They are more likely to wear silver shoes again - they are much more practical. We all discussed it and agreed - I think!
