Bridesmaid suggestions?

I'm trying to keep the costs for my bridesmaids down, and am looking for quality dresses that won't cost over 150.

I have one bridesmaid from California, so i have to make sure she can get one. I also have a few plus sized girls.

any suggestions of stores? macy's, penney's, etc?

or designers?

thanks!

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

David' Bridal has low cost gowns and they are national.

Also Bill Lefkof gowns are fairly inexpensive - right in the $150 range for most of them. They are in tons of bridal shops. The nice thing about his website is you can see the gown in all available colors.

Yep, davids bridal is the one we are using because the prices range from 99-150.

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

I'd suggest seeing if you can find something you like and maybe ordering them online. My girls wore dresses from Impressions. They were two pieces, fairly simple tank sort of top and A-line skirt. They were ranging around the $150 area, but we ended up ordering them online for under $100. We ordered them from a place that is no longer in business, but I ordered my dress from Netbride and was really happy with them. I know a number of other women here did as well.

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

I think Alfred Angelo is pretty inexpensive and I know they have a decent amount of plus-size styles.

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

We used Impressions - I think the cost of the dress was $129, but then they had alterations on top of that. Also - with the plus-sized girls had to pay a little more for the extra material.

Another suggestions is to order their dresses through www.netbride.com or www.bridesave.com.

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

My BMs dresses are two pieces by impressions bridal. We ordered them through burtons because i ordered my dress from there and they give you a discount. The dresses came to about $140 with tax.

One of my BMs lives in california and we are shipping the dress to her so she can have it altered there. The dresses should be from the same dye-lot so the colors match.

I was also in the jessica McClintock store in roosevelt field mall and they had dresses in that range.

Hope this helps. Remember that any place you order your dress from will usually discount the BMs dresses if you order from them.

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

I chose a Watters & Watters dress for my bridal party. While W&W tends to be a bit more expensive, we ordered through RK Bridal and kept the cost lower ($160, I believe). Ordering through a company such as RK, Netbride, Bridesave, etc. will also make it easier for your CA BM to order her dress.

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

Have your bridesmaid in California get measured by a seamstress and call in her measurements. That's what we did with my BM in Massachusetts. We went to a bridal salon up there so she could try on the dress, then they measured her and we called in the measurements to my bridal salon that I was using. I am then going to ship the dress to her and she's having her alterations done at the store that did her measurements in MA. And I agree about the Jordan dresses being a good price and good quality. Lots of styles, too. Good luck!

Re: Bridesmaid suggestions?

My bm dress is by Eden Bridesmaids and we bought it at macy's. The cost was 150 and we wound up getting it for only 135.
