bridesmaid venting!

bridesmaid venting!

Ugh. I have 4 bridesmaids, one cannot come to the Bach. party bc she is in Florda. So, I plan it around another one of them (best friend for years) bc she is in the Police Academy and her schedule is totally fixed (she is actually working the day of the wedding, and doesn't know if they will give her off yet, and she won't be at the rehearsal dinner) - so, last Tues, we go through her whole sched. and determine that 9/14 is the only day she can be there. She says she will make sure and call me back. We spoke 5 times b/t tues and fri, and everything was still good. Sat. am I book the hotel rooms (in NYC). Sat. NIGHT she calls me up and says she finally printed out her whole schedule, and she actually can't make it on the 14th. :( So, now two of my BM's won't be there, I am so bummed. She can do it the week before, but that is a Jewish holiday, and my cousins husband is jewish and they have family plans and although she offered to come anyway, I don't think that's right. So, anyway.....just venting!!!

I'm sorry you can't get all the girls together at the same time. I had the same problem just trying to get them all together to pick the bridesmaids dresses. Everyone has different schedules and one person always has something to do on the day everyone else is available. I'm sure you will have a great time anyway.

I'd rather have them at my wedding and sacrifice the bachelorette party. Don't take it personally, it's not as if they didn't try. Go out and enjoy your night/weekend with the friends that are there!

I have a lot of relatives in law enforcement, so I'm used to them being MIA on holidays, etc.. (10% of my guests probably won't be at my wedding because they'll be on duty.) And considering your friend is just starting her career, you have to understand why she can't keep asking to take 'vacation days'.

Believe me, I'm sure the girls would rather be raising hell with you than sitting at home in FL or going through some 'fun' training at the police academy.

just to respond to the above, no offense taken but just to clarify, she can't take ANY vacation days at all that's why she probably won't be at my wedding even though she is a BM - but the thing I was venting about was that she didn't bother to check her schedule for 5 days, until I had already booked everything, not that her schedule isn't flexible - that I totally understand!

I'm sorry that you can't get all your girls together. I have 4 BM's too and I thought that was a good number to have since it's easier to work around 4 schedules instead of 5, 6 or 7.

I'm sure you can work something out. If not, hang out with the two of your BM's that will be there and make the best of it.

Don't have much advice, just wanted to let you know I understand how you feel. I am going through this now with my BM's. It's tough to find a date that works for everyone. But good luck and no matter what, I am sure that you have a great time.

I understand her situation since the Police Acad. is not something easy for her to schedule around BUT you should NOT change any plans around her. During this time, she will not be able to focus on your wedding or the plans. Do things with the othe girls only and if she can come that is great, if not then she cannot.

I did not have all my girls with me either. I'm also the Maid of Honor for my friend's wedding and the other two girls in her bridal party were USELESS, they didn't want to do anything that involved spending money so they could have cared less if we had a bachlorette party for her or not, so i took it upon myself to take her on a trip to South Beach, Miami all on my own & we had a blast without the other two girls in her party. You don't need everyone there to have fun, just remember that, enjoy the friends you do have there and consentrate on the big picture....they will all be there for your wedding day, that's the one that REALLY matters!
