I wanted to know what people did that was special for asking their bridesmaid.
This is my idea and my mom thinks i am stupid and nuts for doing this but i think its sweet.
I have a man or honor so his gift will be a picture of the both of us at the renn fair with a engraved pic frame saying best friend and my best friend love jenn/
I am asking two girls who i know wont say no for bridesmaid... getting them a personalized small jewlery box with thir names on it and inside a small note saying 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' then for the wedding and a thank u present they get emerald necklaces to wear that day What u think?
Should i do this for the flower girl but my problem with that is she has a twin brother who is my ring bearer and he might get upset tha he didn't get anything. My fh isn't getting anything for his man of honor or groomsmen as a 'will u be my... ' because he says that is gay and will get him a present for the thank u gift.
Thoughts please.. as u see i have too much time on my hands thanks to being sick with teh flu for four days.

Hmmmm....maybe just get him a little something so he doesn't feel left out? I think it is sweet that you did that for your girls! I just asked mine at dinner or over the phone or something, hahaha I don't even remember!

for my bridesmaids i made fun frames that i bought plain in michaels and then painted, decorated, etc. then in the fram i had the 'Will You Be My Bridesmaid' poem. for my flowergirl & ring bearer i got them the cutest books:

I totally forgot that i got the kids a book each about being a flowergirl and ring beaerer. I am going to include a 'fake' pillow and a 'fake' basket wrapped up with some candies and a personalized card. $25 per kid also given on xmass.
My bestman is going to love the frame otherwise i would never do that for a man. He likes silly stuff like that and gets emotional over stuff so it would work ... giggling about him crying over it now IoI
The boxes would be only two then at $25 each and that would be apart their xmass present so i figured it wouldn't be so bad price wise. The necklace would be around $125.00 but that would be given at teh time of the wedding...
is that too much for a bridesmaid gift? I am really clueless. I got a pearl necklace from my sister in law for her wedding and that was much more then the small emerald necklace i was thinking.
About the fh's bp maybe we will give them beer with a sticker on it 'best man' 'groomsmen' this way its not so 'gay'.
Any thoughts on this now? THANKS for the opions its helping.

For each bridesmaid I bought frames at Michael's (silver w/ hearts) That was kind of my theme for my engagement party where I asked them all. And I put a picture of me and my BM and then a poem/letter printed on velum over the picture. And I made a scrapbook for my MOH (us through the years)

i got them all 'will you be my bridesmaid' cards and wrote a little something in it as to why i needed them with me! i took my 2 sister in laws to be to lunch, gave my 2 bfs a cute friend angel ornament. i got my older flower girl the flower girl keepsake hanky with the beautiful poem, and my younger one the flower girl book. my 2 ring bearers are getting the ring bearer book. if it comes from the heart they will appreciate it no matter what!

That all sounds nice - but honestly - I just asked my friends to be bridesmaids. There was no fanfare or gifts or cards, just a simple, would you be my bridesmaid? So the bottom line is - if you want to be fancy, then go right ahead, but it isn't a necessary thing. Your BMs will be just as honored no matter how you ask.

andddd... i jsut took them to brunch on sunday at the country club i belong to. while we were eating dessert i gave them all 'gifts.' i got dark brown tanks in old navy & bought iron-in 'bridesmaid' rhinestones and made them pretty shirts! and the tanks were on sale for $5...woo hoooooo!!! i picked dark brown bc my BM dresses will be a chocolate color. i thought they might think i was cheesy & never want to wear them except for when they go to bed but they loved them and were askingwhen we they were wearing them all. haha!
