Is anyone out there having problems with friends that think they are going to be in the wedding party? I have three friends that I know are not going to be in the wedding because I am picking bridesmaids that I have known for a long time that I am still great friends with.(Ex: my kindergarten friend and I have stayed friends and I know we will the rest of our lives) Help!!!!

how do you know they think they will be in the wedding party? did they actually say that? if so, you have a dilemma! maybe you could tell them that your groom only has a limited number of people he wants as ushers, so you have to limit yourself to that many bridesmaids, and your doing it by who you've known the longest??

I have never said anything to them and they just assume that I am going to ask them. It stinks doesn't it. I just feel so pressured, I will probably tell them that about the certain# of ushers to bridesmaids. Thank you for the advice!

You can also tell them that you can only afford a certain # of bridesmaids so you can only have those you have known for a long time.

These 3 girls that keep asking and I tell them I did not pick the party yet, because my wedding is in 2004, just keep making comments about me asking them to be in it. I know that being in a wedding party can be expensive even when it is on a budget, if that was me, I would just be honored to be invited to the wedding. I have a collection of BM dresses in my closet just collecting dust.

I had the same dilema. I chose my 2 sisters, my cousin, and my girlfriend since the 2nd grade. All of which I am very close too. I thought that two other cousins that I am not at all close to anymore were going to be extremely upset. They haven't said anything to me yet although I suspect that they are behind my back.
