How did you ask your bridesmaids to be in the wedding?

Re: Bridesmaids

My MOH, who is my Fh's sister knew all along that when we got married she'd be my MOH. When we got engaged, I called her and said 'it's time to me my MOH. I asked my other 2 girls when I saw them to show my ring and tell them I was engaged.

Re: Bridesmaids

I'm in the process of asking people to be in my bridal party and was thinking of a cute way to ask. From reading other posts, I had gotten the idea to do it by food. I had googled 'would you be my bridesmaid cookies' and saw a bunch of options on the internet. But I'm having a pretty big bridal party - 2 maids of honor, 10 bridesmaids, and 2 flower girls. And most of the cookies were around $5.00 or more each. And then I'd have to pay shipping, etc. Somewhat pricey for me when I'm trying to save.

So then I thought about making cupcakes myself and using icing to write out 'will you be my bridesmaid?' But I'm definitely not going to see all the girls at once so it'd be kind of difficult/time consuming to keep making batches of cupcakes at a time in order to ask them.

Finally, I found this place online called cookiesbydesign. It turns out they have a store in Williston Park on Hillside Ave. They had a bridesmaid cookie on there which is really nice and you could write out a poem, but it's $10.00 each. I kept looking on their site, and I found a double heart cookie which is $3.00 each. I decided to go to the store to see if they'd be able to do 14 of those cookies, with the different sayings - bridesmaid, flower girl, maid of honor.

I went there today, and the girl was very nice and helpful. I placed an order for the double heart cookies. (I believe the minimum order to place is at least 12 when ordering). She said she'd do her best to fit on the cookie 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' I told her if they can't fit that to just write 'Bridesmaid?' or 'Maid of Honor?', etc. I'm supposed to pick them up Tuesday, so I'll see then how it came out. But it seems cute cause I was able to pick the colors for the cookie and writing.

I'm not sure if they package it all nicely themselves. If not, I'll probably just wrap it in pretty cellophane or something myself and make it look nice for when I present it to them. But the whole thing was pretty easy, so I'd recommend checking them out!

See my pics...I had those cute cookies made up from beaucoup.com and then wrote a poem (printed it on stationary I ordered online) and mailed it to them...Very well received!!!
