My wedding isnt for a long time (over a year away)...I made the mistake of asking my bms to be in the bridal party too early. Long story short one of them dropped out and I would like to add more girls- would that be ok to do when we actually go for the dresses?? Two out of the three girls that I want to ask knew that I had already asked some people...do you think they will be offended??

Re: Bridesmaids
I think if it's done tactfully and tastefully they probably wouldn't mind- I had a similar situation and everything ended up being okay.

I think it will be ok, just make sure to make it more about how you want them to be a part of your day, you've grown closer, etc. and less about replacing others

I did the same thing. I aked four girls right away. Then realized that I wanted one other girl. I felt bad b/c she alred knew the others girls were already asked but I explained to her that it wouldnt be the same with out her and she is actually the one who is most involved.

Re: Bridesmaids
Well I was thinking that if I waited till we went for the dresses I would take each one of them out to dinner and then give them one of those cards asking them to be my bridesmaid. The card would say things like we have grown closer and I would love for you to be apart of the wedding...

Re: Bridesmaids
I had a situation very similar happen to me. I got engaged in 06 and asked 4 BM's. Then, recently I decided I wanted to ask my future sister-in-law's. At first I felt akward bc they did know who I had asked as BM's, but then I decided I would just do it.
Therefore, I understand why you might feel weird to ask after the fact, but I think you will be really happy once you do it. Also, I think you should ask sooner than later. Maybe it might be better to not let anymore time go by before you ask trhem.

How soon in advance do you think I should ask??? Being that we arent getting married until 2010- I wasnt going to ask them till like at least this fall...maybe even a little before we go for the dresses
