Ok... I wanted to do something special to ask my bridesmaids to be in my wedding party. I have read a few suggestions on giving them books and inscribe them with a poem or note. I thought this was a great idea until I realized it was going to cost $75.00 for the books. I don't even know how I am going to end up paying for the wedding itself so I am reluctant to spend so much money.
Does anyone have any other ideas that would be a sweet way of asking the girls to be my bridesmaids?

That's a really cute idea... I really do not have a lot of pics of some of the girls though. FH's cousin and his sister who lives in Georgia. Maybe I can work around it.
Thanks for the idea.

I made my girls a card to ask them...but I'm sure you can come up with something even more special, but a handmade card might be nice to add to it!! There are pics in my album.
I'm a Larkfield Bride too!! I love that place!! Fh's parents got married there 27 years ago so it's an honor to be able to get married there too!! Congrats!!

Re: Bridesmaids
they also sell greeting cards just for this.. why not give them the card when you take them out for a drink or 2? the cards arent expensive at all ...

Re: Bridesmaids
I bought canvas bags and put their names on them; figure they can use them to put extra clothes/shoes in the day of the wedding and their names being on them makes it more personal and less likely to mix up
I bought long sleeved shirts and had 'bridesmaid' in a snowflake font written on them and 'maid of honor' on my sisters
and I bought cardstock and made up cards and printed a poem up for the BMs and MOH to be put in the bag with their gifts.
...we also did some stuff for the GM and BM. We etched 'BM'/'GM' and their initals on a beer mug
and we made them shirts; the front is a superman logo with a 'g' or a 'b' instead of the 'S' and on the back it has 'Sherry & John Established 2010' with the stick people bride and groom and underneath it we put 'Game Over!'
we thought those shirts were not sappy and sort of funny and goofy they way we are. We did all the shirts and bags by desiging the layouts in Microsoft Word after downloading fonts; We printed on transfer paper and ironed all of the on... they look great and saved us quite a bit of $$!
Our E-Party is 11/23 so hopefully they love it

That's what I did too, the girls loved it! But, it's not exactly cheaper than getting books for all of them
