I'm having a MOH and 1 BM's. I think you need some more choices for your poll.

Re: Bridesmaids
I only had a MOH and it was the best decision I could have made. I had a King's wedding with 5 GM.
I knew before I even started planning my wedding that if I were to ask certain people to be in my wedding, they would give me trouble and to me it was not worth it.
Everything turned out great.

Re: Bridesmaids
You're absolutely right Nora! I made a mistake and sent hit POST before I was finished!!! I wanted to make it longer! I am having 7 bridesmaids, one MOH, a flower girl and a junior bm. That's ten. I don't want to even talk about it

Re: Bridesmaids
We are just doing MOH (FSIL) and BM (FBIL). All of our friends are married with kids and just figured it would be less of a headache for us to reply on people with such busy lives already. Not that MOH & BM don't have three kids but hey, they're family and were there when we got engaged.

Re: Bridesmaids
I had this 'friend' who I was considering asking to be in our wedding, we (friend and I)talked about my wedding all the time. I was not in her wedding. If I asked this 'friend' it would make the sides uneven and I didn't want that. My FH didn't want to ask just anyone to make the sides even again. Since I wasn't sure if I'd ask, I made sure I never asked her. When she found out she wouldn't be in my wedding, she got really annoyed and hasn't spoken to me in 2 months, now I know I made the right choice.

Re: Bridesmaids
Nora, I like your thinking. You did make the right choice if your 'friend' can turn on you like that. I know this is not the point, but did she ever explain or apologize to you for not having you in her wedding?

Re: Bridesmaids
Yes she did, I won't second guess her decision, she actually asked her hubby's ex g/f to be in it. I didn't not ask her b/c of spite. There was just no room. I was planning on asking her to play the piano or some other special role. I made plans to go see her this coming weekend, but since we haven't talked, I'm not going.

Re: Bridesmaids
Nora, I fully understood what you meant. It's just hard to figure out people and I was wondering if she was gracious about not including you in her wedding. I'm sorry to hear that someone you considered a friend could react that way. PS- now it just got more interesting. An ex-g/f, of all people!!! LOL...

Re: Bridesmaids
I just shake my head. My FH didn't really like my friend anyway, not that that has anything to do with not asking her, it just makes him feel better. Whatever- at least I know where I stand. Plus- her sister is getting married the week before me and my 'friend' is very strapped for cash. Now she only has to help pay for one shower, buy one dress and 1 pair of shoes. My real friend didn't ask me but she is my BM. She asked me a few weeks after I found out I wasn't in her wedding to do a reading. I was fine with that.
