Bridesmaids dresses in Nassau North Shore area
Does anyone have any suggestions for bridesmaid dress shopping? I looked at bridesmaids dresses at Iman and the Wedding Salon in Manhasset. I refuse to go to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place because of an incident there when I was shopping for my dress. I would like to keep the cost as close to $200 as possible. Thanks! Thanks.

I was very unhappy with their customer service. I am planning from out of town and time is tight when I get back into town. I booked an appointment to look at wedding dresses for 11:00am. When I got there at 10:50 the women behind the counter asked me to wait because my sales representative 'wasn't available yet'. At 11:20, still no help and no one came by to explain why not. Meanwhile, other people showed up for 11:30 appointments and were assisted. At 11:30, I approached the women at the desk and asked why other people were being helped and not me. She simply said. Don't worry, you'll get your full hour once the sales girl gets in. I left and won't go there again.

In defence of Bridal Reflections....
I can understand that you would be upset by the service you got at BR. However, I've been there 3 times and I might be able to explain what may have happened... When you go in the first time you meet with someone for a consultation - so you obviously haven't requested a specific consultant, and they probably have assigned you to someone who, unfortunately is running over with another bride. The people who came in after you and were seen before you may have requested another consultant who they had already seen before, and they happened to be free to see them before your consultant was free. Of course, they could have been nicer to you and explain the situation to you - their front desk people aren't the best. But their consultants have been amazing to me!! I'm actually going to buy my gown there tomorrow :-) Anyway - sorry about your experience!

Questions for Sara
WHo helped you? I met with Marni and she was great! How many times did you look at/try on your dress before ordering it? What does your dress look like? I think I found the dress I want and they are willing to make some changes to it that I would love, which is so great.

I found the dresses for my bridesmaids there. The selection isn't huge but I loved the dresses. The prices are pretty good. Ours were under 200. Good luck.

Ditto to what Sara said
I agree with Sara. I too bought my dress from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and so far have nothing but good things to say about the place and my consultant, Kim. I went in there twice before I decided the dress I loved was the one. No pressure from them either which really helped me make up my own mind. I expect my dress to come in any day now, so I will be willing to post back as time goes on and I deal with them in more depth.

Questions for Sara
I bought the dress today!!! I've been back there like 5 times (long story - but every time I went back and was indecisive they brought the price down!!) The gown is by their own custom designer. The first time I walked into the salon it was on the mannequin by the door and I pointed to it and said THAT'S THE ONE!! But it was twice what I could afford for a gown. I've since talked them down in price - I'm getting it for almost $2000 less than the original price - AMAZING! I think they could only do that because they know the designer because he only designes for BR. The gown is strapless and beaded on the torso and has a beautiful sash around the waist secured in the back with a victorian looking (and not tacky) bow. I completely love it and never ever thought I'd wind up being able to afford it when I first saw it. It's still a stretch from what I budgeted, but hey, it's the only wedding dress I'll ever wear!!!

Bridal Reflections - Carle Place experience
As I posted a few posts above, I bought my dress from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I know they have two stores (one in Massapequa too), but I have never been there. I have heard the store in Carle place has the more expensive designer gowns, but since I haven't been to the other one, I can't determine if this is true. My experience there was wonderful. I called the day before on a whim, and got an appointment for the next day. They were having a trunk sale on Diamond Bridal gowns by Paul Gerard and Ada Athanassiou. I got there right on time, and they said fine, have a seat and your consultant will be with you when she's ready. I sat down and out she walked. No wait what-so-ever. I showed her about 15 pictures I had from various magazines, and told her what I liked and didn't like. She brought in close to 15 gowns for me to try on, some I would never have chosen based on how they looked on the hangar. All but 2 of the 15 were just right for me. It was so hard to decide. I really liked one, but decided not to rush and shop some more. She kept my info on file for me. I did go shop some more and always wanted to go back to the one I found there. I called back up a week later, went in and tried it on again. I knew it was the one, but the price was more than my mom could afford. So I told her I'll think about it and if I did decide to get it, I would come back the next night. She said she was off the next night. However, I called in the next day to make an appointment, and when I went in to buy the dress, my consultant was in on her day off. She had called in to see if I decided to come in. I know they work on commission, but she would have gotten it if she was there or not. So I really appreciated the fact she came in on her day off when she knew I was going to place my order. The dress should be in by mid-November, I can't wait. So far so good.Welcome New Vendors
