Bridesmaids dresses: where did you start?
I know that many of you have already picked out dresses that you & your girls love.I have been looking and do not like ANYTHING. :(
I went to one small place with 2 of my girls and didn't find anything.
Was there one store that you went to that had an amazing & varied selection? Need to find some motivation here!

Bridesmaids dresses: where did you start?
I am having the same issue - I want a bridesmaid dress that doesn't look like a bridesmaid dress lol. The two places that I have narrowed it down to (because they have a nice selection of dresses other than chiffon) are Nordstrom in Roosevelt Field and Bridal Reflections in Westbury. IMO, Wedding Salon Manhasset Bridesmaids was a waste of time, especially if you are looking for cocktail length dresses - they only had about ten; the store itself is like a rented room, not at all like the Wedding Salon itself. Good luck!!!

Bridesmaids dresses: where did you start?
We went to David's Bridal in Lake Grove and my girls found their dresses within about a half hour. I let them pick out any style- it just had to be the same length and material. They all look so nice together

Bridesmaids dresses: where did you start?
We started at David's bridal and it was a nightmare, I would not suggest it unless you know EXACTLY what you want. We then went to Macy's in smithaven mall and had a great experience walking in with no appointment. They did have a wide variety of dress styles but not a wide variety of colors. I've heard bridal suite of centereach has a really wide selection and a lot of girls on here rave about it. Good luck! HTH!

I am not sure if you are willing to travel, but there is a great little boutique in Whitestone, Queens called Sparkle. The owner used to work at Kleinfeld's and she has a small but good selection. I went the other day to 'preshop' lol with my MOH. We found one very strong option and in Dec will go to Nordstrom to compare. The nice thing about Sparkle is that she doesn't do alterations so she has no incentive to sell a bigger dress to you and then charge you to alter it!

Try J. Crew too. If you are looking for something less 'bridesmaidsy' they are a great place to start. I loved working with them and they give you discounts when you are in store trying on. Very personalized experience.

That's great, thanks for the recco - has anyone had any experience with BHLDN?

Not for BM dresses, but I bought my wedding dress there. The one in the city is inside the UES anthopologie (so, super small), but the girls there are sweet & helpful. I went twice & was very happy with my experience! They did have a little setup with bridal accessories & BM dresses, that they could help you with. (They just didn't have any in the color I want!) I would suggest looking on their site first & then putting that in your appointment notes so you can make the most out of the time!

If you are looking for less bridesmaid-y dresses, try looking on ModCloth. They have lots of different dresses in so many sizes. Free returns too!: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/vintage-wedding-style?featuring=108875,65466,105712,22628,46208,64437,67853,106579,84884

David's. I picked the color and material and they each picked the dress they liked best.

Bridesmaids dresses: where did you start?
We went to Davids first, mostly bc it was the easiest to try on the largest variety of dresses in the shortest amount of time. Once we got a feel for the dresses we liked and what we didn't, we went to Macy's and were able to be a bit more picky about styles and found what we loved.Welcome New Vendors
