Just heard about this website and needed to vent. My bridesmaids are doing nothing they are so lazy! One of them actually considers themself my best friend yet she doesnt even take the time to see if I need help in planning my wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about speaking to my bridesmaids or does anyone else feel the same way. Please help they are driving me nuts!!!!!!

what is it that you want them to help you with? did you try asking for help or letting them know what their responsibilities were?

I would just send an email or call them and 'ask' them to go places with you.
ie 'you want to come look for dresses,,or invites...etc' see what they say.. Start inviting them to do things weddingish with you..it will get them in the spirit.

sometimes they dont know how to help, i always ask them if like to go shopping with me, or come over to look at stuff o r how is shower planning going....
my girls are good though, they tend to ask me if i need anything, but you should definitely talk to them, they may not know....

I think you should ask them if you need help with anything most bridesmaids do not want to step on your toes so they wait for you to come to them

My Bridesmaids are not helping either - I'm just trying to have a 'No Nonsense Policy' - If they can't keep up - too bad...I need to get this Shizzzzz done!!!

I would be direct and upfront. These people are your friends so you should be able to discuss things with them and be concise with what you need help with.

I agree, I would just outright ask for the help. They may not even realize you need anything, people can be clueless like that. ((I am one of those people!))

Kind of a similar problem, half of them are being amazing and so much help...however there are a couple that are NOT pulling their weight, and they have done the small specific things they were asked. Hopefully they are just like this w/ the small things and when it counts they will come through.

You're right. Some of the girls may not realize that you need their help. You may look the in-control type of gal, and they may not know how to approach you. In two weeks, I am having a 'Meet and Greet' with my bridesmaids to iron out details. One bridesmaid suggested that I designate each girl to assist with one specific task that needs to be done. Once they realize the overwhelming details in planning a wedding, I believe you may get tired of 'all if the help.' lol
