Bridesmaids Gifts

Hi Everyone- I am getting married in September at a church in St. James and my reception is at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson. If anyone has any thoughts or comments on the Meadow Club that would be great. Also if anyone knows of a nice place to take pictures in the St.James/Port Jeffereson area that would be cool too! My main question is I have no idea what to get my bridesmaids. I know it is typical to get them jewlery. I think I am going to have to b/c my dresses are strapless and I don't want them all wearing something different. But I was wondering if anyone has a new and different idea. Thanks so much!

Hi Jillian, I am also getting married in September at St. James Lutheran Church. Where are you getting married? My reception is in Smithtown Landing Country Club. We are probably going to take our pictures at either the Village Green in old Stony Brook or at the Duck Pond in Setauket. That would be right in between your two sites. I'm getting my BM jewelry too, but also got them silver plated makeup brushes in a satin case with their names embroidered. They were on sale at Marilyn's Keepsakes for &17. I got them in less than a week. The only bad thing was two of them the names were a little messy, but that didn't look that bad. What date is your wedding? GOOD LUCK! -Stefani 9/15/01

My sister got married at the Meadow Club 2 years ago. All I can say is that it was a GREAT day. The food is excellent and the service is very nice. They have some nice landscape outside for nice picture taking. If you have any more ?? please feel free to ask.

Thanks for responding to my message! I am actually getting married at St. James Episcopal Church on 25A. The date is Sept. 28. Stef28- when is yours? Diane- Thanks for th info on the Meadow Club. It is so hard being in Atlanta and planning this thing in NY. We are coming up the first weekend in June- to meet with the preist and do the whol pre-canta classes thing. We are also going to try and find a limo and tuexdo place. Does anyone know of any good places? Too bad- I only found this site now- I could have used this a lot more a few months back. My wedding is Sept. 15th. I'm planning mine from out of state too, North Carolina. I'm using a friend for Limo company, but I heard a good place for tuxes (we are going to go there and a friend used them) is America in Port Jeff Station. They are supposed to have good prices.
