I was wondering how the other brides feel about paying for your bridemaids hair and makeup. I was considering picking up the cost but, on top of BM gifts, it will be costly.

i am paying just for their makeup as part of their gift. I wasn't going to originally but I feel as if they feel pressured to get it professionally done when they wouldn't have otherwise. So I decided it was worth the $$ considering everything they are doing for me

I am up in the air about it too. I dont know if all of them will do it, and if some do I dont want the others to feel awkward

I did not pay for their hair or makeup. I let them choose how they were going to wear their hair and how their makeup was done. Some choose to get their hair done, while others did their own. I was not too picky.

The only thing about letting people do their own makeup/hair it will be in your wedding pictures for EVER!
I'm hoping to maybe pay for make up or har and asking them to take care of the rest. It's tough but i think people expect to have to shell out for that!

I decided to pay for my girl's hair and got one of my friends who does make up on the side to do their make up.... Its a lot but what's another 200? i only have 3 girls... which is not that many.

Im not paying for their hair or makeup. I brought them jewelry instead. I have 5 girls in my bridal party $$$$$$

Since they are your friends and family, I am hoping you have enough confidence in them to not look like fools on your wedding day.

I am paying toward some of their hair and makeup as part of their gift. I only have 3 BM and two of them are my sisters. The third one said she did not really want her hair/makeup done but I got alittle bridezillay on her...LOL. I just dont think her hair will look good down with the dresses they are wearing...tight sleek mermaid dreses. Also I think it will look silly to have 2 with H & M and 1 without. So she agreed!
It is a big expense for them and that is why I would like to pay toward. I cannot think of anything else to get them, besides jewerly and maybe a robe!

That's a tough one because it gets up there!! I originally went into thinking I would pay for both and I would really like too, but after working the numbers its just way too much. I will probably pay for hair and leave the makeup up to them.

I am planning on paying for both. I know I always thought it was nice when the weddings I've been in paid for my hair and/or makeup and I want to do the same. I did buy them jewelry and a few other things and wound up spending a little more than I originally planned.
I only have 3 girls and all are family, so I figure I don't mind as much paying for their hair and makeup. Plus, my mom made it a little easier and is paying for my sister, so now I only have to pay for 2 girls!

i told my girls i might pay for their hair and make up if i can afford it as the wedding gets closer but im not promising anything. it is expensive definatly. but on top of bm gifts its too much. you could always pay for it as their bm gifts.
i have other stuff planned for that though so i cant =(

I was just having the same conversation with my MOH tonight about the hair/makeup thing. One of my bm's said she is planning on doing her own hair, and i got a little nervous b/c I assumed everyone would just get their hair done. I think I am going to pay for some of it, but not all. It can be an awkward situation, not to mention added stress/drama that the bride certainly does not need.
