i sent them all an email with all the dress, shoes, etc. details in it and asked that they get their hair done in a way that would show off the dress. i asked them all if they wanted to get their makeup done and they all said yes so i guess i gave them a choice for that one

i think its gonna be difficult to word that.... since u want them to get their make-up done professionally it would sound better if u were paying for it.

i sent my girls an email about shoes, hair, makeup, and some other details and i told them if they wanted to get their hair and makeup done this is where i was getting it done and how much it was. a majority of the girls are gonna get their hair done, but not their make-up.... maybe just say that you would like it if they could get their make-up done professionally but if they cant..... welll they can't lol....

I know all my BM wanted their hair to be done professionally..I told them that I have a person that is coming to my house but they decided to do go to their own beauty salon.

I know that all of mine wanted to get their hair/make-up done professionally so i told them I have someone coming to the house so they are just going with my people. Except one who is using her own hair lady and doing her own make-up....which is perfectly ok.

I sent out an email to my girls saying that I was looking into hiring a hair/makeup artist and wanted to see if anyone wanted it. Then I added that the more girls who get it done the less it was because we would get a group rate. They all decided to do it!

Just tell them if they want to get hair or makeup done, they can use your girl, but they don't have to. If you're not paying for it though, you can't force them to.

I wrote my Girls an email only asking who would want their Hair & make-up done. I didn't wanna ask too much more of them. :-/

Re: bridesmaids hair/makeup

I was in my friend's wedding last october. She sent an email letting everyone the prices at the salons he was going to, and to let her know if we were interested. We paid for ourselves. I went to my own hairstylist for my hair, but went to her salon for my makeup.

For my wedding, I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to get prices from whoever I'm going to use, and I'll pass them the information. IF they want to do it, great. If not, they will look kind of funny being the only person without professional makeup.

Re: bridesmaids hair/makeup

I am asking them all to have their hair done. Make up is optional.

I said just that...... 'I would like everyone to have their hair professionally done. I don't care how you do it but please have it done so it will last throughout the day. I will have someone at my house who can do it. Anyone wishing to go somewhere else that is fine too. As far as make up I will have someone at my house to do that also. You are all welcome to get it done if you'd like. Her prices are (insert prices)... although this is up to you.'

Something like that. I didn't get any bad responses from my BM's

ETA: I also always assume when I am in a wedding I am to pay for these things myslef so I didn't think it was unreasonable to ask this of my girls.

I told them that I was having a hair and a makeup person coming to the house to do my hair and makeup as well as my mom's. And I told them they could use them as well and just to let me know so I could tell them. They all said yes. As far as paying for them, I'm not sure if I'm going to yet so they all are paying for it themselves right now.

my sister just told everyone a total price for hair and makeup cost (didnt give separate prices for each) then told them she would be paying PART of it for them for the day of... that way she didnt have to lay out alot of money and they felt like they were getting a good deal... everyone did it! HTH!

Re: bridesmaids hair/makeup

each one of my BM wanted their hair done, and all but one wanted makeup........I am paying for makeup and the one girl who isn't getting makeup, I will be paying for her hair instead.

I just asked them straight out if they wanted hair and makeup done......they all agreed then decided i would pay.
