bridesmaids, hall searches, and other things
First, a quick question:
Are you all picking bridesmaids, etc, already? I've kind of made up my mind, but my wedding is almost two years off, and so much can change in two years... Granted, the people I'm thinking right now are my sister, my brother, and one friend, and siblings don't change. But friends do... Obviously, I certainly plan on staying close with this friend for years to come, but you never know. So, I was just wondering how you ladies are handling this.
I also have one or two other people who I think might be expecting to be bridesmaids, etc, who I really don't plan on asking... so I'm not looking forward to dealing with that.
Also, just an update on how my hall search is going... my fiance and I decided on Fox Hollow Saturday, and booked it, and then my parents saw it Sunday (and they're paying, btw, so their opinion matters), and didn't like it because to them a number one priority is being the only party in the place... so we're canceling and looking around for other places. I, by the way, didn't cancel because my parents told me to... they'd never do that. I just decided that they were kind of right, and that we could probably find somewhere that would have only one party at a time that we liked just as much. I'm specifically looking for less 'commerical' more unusual places... so the search is back on, which is kind of a pain... but it's ok. We're thinking really heavily now about the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, Coidre Hall, and a few other places... My mom thinks Caumsett State Park might do weddings, so she's going to look into that. My parents are in full search mode, calling their friends for suggestions and such. My dad even has his whole office talking about it... Nutty. It looks like it should all work out though.
Anyway, that's my current status. Hope you all are doing well!
