How many are having them dyed to match the dresses? In a perfect world I would love to do this but my girls have been so uncooperative they could go barefoot for all I care!! Is it necessary?

Re: Bridesmaids shoes
It depends on the dress - it might not be necessary to get dyed shoes. But if you want it then you should ask them to get them.

I told my girls that they can pick their own shoes out but they need to be dyed the color of the dress.

That is the option that I am leaning toward.
ETA: If I could trust them to actually do this.

Kathleen, do we have the same BMs?
I asked my girls to have their shoes dyed, since the dresses are lavendary/purple and I didn't think anything else would match. Have they gotten shoes yes, let alone had them dyed? Well I have no idea.
I can only trust that they'll come thru in the end (wishful thinking!)
Good Luck!

Re: Bridesmaids shoes
I am in the same boat. By the end of the month, 3 out of my 4 BMs will have had their first fitting. I am still waiting for one more to go. She is also the same one who still has not brought shoes either.

I was going to let them get a neutral,if I coudl figure out what went with cranberry, but my bridesmaid suggestd getting dyeables, so that is fine with me. She plans to have them dyed black later. They can get whatever the want, open or closed toe, it is a long dress.

Re: Bridesmaids shoes
My girls dresses are lavender and I told them they can choose any shoe they want as long as its silver. I figured a silver shoe could be worn again as opposed to a purple shoe.

Re: Bridesmaids shoes
I've been in a few weddings where the BMs picked their own shoes and had them dyed to match.. It worked out, but if you're a picky person, you might want to tell them to stick to one type of fabric (i.e. shiny satin versus a matte crepe, etc) Its not a huge deal but depending on the color, length of dress, etc it can be noticeable.
My dresses are cranberry and I think I'm just going to let them all pick a closed toe black shoe. I hate how those dyes shoes run when they get wet and I was hoping to take pics outside.

I told my girls that they can have the color of the dress or silver, I just asked that they choose the same one but I didn't care what they look like. People rarely see them.

Re: Bridesmaids shoes
I might just ask them to get silver shoes (heel their preference) so that they can wear them again. I feel that they're already wasting enough $$$ as it is.

I feel like you, can't be bothered, that's why I choose a color that the shoes would match identical, dyeing shoes is too much of a hassle and if the mess up oy ve!!
