My fiancee and I have been discussing this. She has 8 in her party and I have 6. Is this a normal occurance, or at this size, should we even out the parties? Is it ok to have 2 less than the other?

Ditto - doesn't need to match. You can have BMs or GMs double up...

we have 1 more BM than we do GM but we have 2 MOHs and 1 Best Man so the 3 will walk together

You might want to wait to pick your wedding party if you are getting married in 2016. A LOT can change.
